*gives keelykat a big kick up the bum" :D

Trust me - it will do you good, just getting out of the house and socialising. I know it seems scary going, but once you get in and get chatting, the time will fly past.

I'm going to a song and rhyme group this morning. Charlotte usually goes with my Mam as I work part time, but my Mam is away on holiday. I'm a bit nervous going as I don't know anyone there.
Here I go again on my own....

me and Oz started oing to Jo Jingles - its a franchise thing and you have to pay upfront (£54 for 12 sessions) but I didnt mind because at least the makes me go, and Oz loves it, theres only 8 per class too so its small and its all about singing and dancing with baby so no time to talk with other mums until its over which kind of takes the pressure of socialising off! But last week i got talking to another girl who was actually in year below me at school and we're going for coffee next week so thats nice.

I wish i was better at going to groups as well but cant seem to pluck up the courage to go, Jo Jingles was good because the first day was everyones first day, unlike the other groups where im afraid everyone knows everyone and i'll be sitting on my tod with Oz.

I hope to pluck up the courage to go back sometime, i've been up and down a lot....one day positive i'm doing ok then the next day elliots sicking lots or something silly and i feel so fed up again. i need a kick up the bum, i really do. i just worry too much and think too much!

Keely, maybe the other Mums could give you some advice and support? The group that I went to was very informal and as well as getting Jamie weighed, the HV gave a talk on a topic and then the Mums had a good old gossip! :D. They all knew each other but I just joined in ;). I'm certain if you go to a SureStart then there will be lots of support for you re Elliot sicking and probably some other Mums going through the same thing. If you have one local, call them up and ask for a timetable (or better still, both of you could just pop along! ;)).

Nad, we saw Jo Jingles at a baby event last summer and it looks fab! We were going to enrol but there isn't one local to us. However, the SureStart centre has a class :j. They call it Jo Jingles but I'm not so sure as I know its a franchise but I'm thinking of going to that next week :D.

  • have any of your bubbas gone/going through a separation anxiety thing at night?
just all of a sudden for the last few nights Daniel screams the place down when we put him to bed, he used to just drift off quietly by himself but now if you try and leave the room he creates!
the last 2 nights running OH has had to stay in the room with him til he falls asleep, and obviously this isnt a habit we want to get into
i have no idea whats changed! i thought maybe hes hit that age where hes scared of being alone? he has a little night light on his end of the monitor, and im going to put a radio on for him tonight to see if that makes a difference.... any other suggestions?

Keely could your mum/sister/friend go with you to act as your "wingman"? at least then you don't need to worry about coping with a sick attack on ur own or having no one to talk to :)

I also agree if you go to a group that is singing then there tends to only be 5mins of freetime the rest is structured with no time to chat so hopefully someone will approach you at the end or just complement one of the other mums on the outfit their child is wearing - they'll be your best friend in seconds then :p

:rotfl:I have to add that I make sure Olivia gets dressed immediately she wakes up and I give her breakfast straight after so that I can then leave her to her own devices for half an hour or so while I faff around like a headless chicken trying to get Izzy ready for the childminder and me ready for work. We just about scrape into school on time. Lucky I meet my childminder in the playground otherwise I'd never manage it.
