I usually get irritated by people on this website threatening to contact Watchdog and the like as it is usually a misprice or a loophole that is being exploited and they don't like it when the companies involved don't play ball.

In this case though I do think that there are grounds for complaint as Mirror Group and play.com have clearly breached the Terms & Conditions of the promotion, firstly by not issuing vouchers on a strictly first come first served basis, and secondly by issuing more than one voucher per person. The fact that somebody on another thread is boasting that they wrote a script that enabled them to get 1200 vouchers emailed to them is despicable.

Don't know who you would complain to though, as doubt Watchdog would be interested in hearing that people hadn't received a freebie - they just want to hear about people being ripped off. Possibly Trading Standards?

    Where is that person boasting?

    Where is he boasting?
Very irritating to hear that people who ignored the T&Cs have succeeded in getting multiple vouchers. Like this person who apparently got hold of 1200 £5 vouchers.

I applied for one for myself, and two for other family members. I ordered them quite early. I also ordered them on the same session on the net from my dial-up connection, so I guess I'll have been eliminated through mulitple ordering from one IP address.

  • This whole thing is shambolic - as far as I'm concerned, play can go get stuffed for any future orders of mine, I'm off to CDWOW

Phoned up and asked what was going on. They took my details and said they'd contact me via email, still waiting on a reply. Fingers crossed
  • After many emails, some of which had been deleted unread, all ignored until now, I have just received this email.

We are very sorry to hear that you have not received your Play.com
    voucher.

We have checked our records and can confirm that you have won a £5
    voucher.

    The voucher code is XXXXXXX

Don't forget to use it before 30th November 2005

    Kind Regards
