Gas Safety Certificate?

Then you have jumped the gun a bit.
The agent has 28 days to furnish tenants a copy of the gas safety cert.

No, nothing whatsovere to do with being paranoid - you are being entirely sensible and exercising what is a very basic legal right in terms of property rental.
It's a legal requirement because people have died in properties where LLs have failed to safely maintain gas appliances.
Tenants should not be made to feel that they are being difficult by insisting on having a copy of the gas safety certificate -as I said above - it's called a Tenant Copy because a copy has to be given to / left at the property for the Tenant.
LLs and LAs need to stop believing that they are above the law, and Tenants shouldn't let them get away with it. I'm glad you contacted the HSE.
I'm wondering if I was too hasty
But to be honest, it's been nothing but bother from day one to even have a normal conversation with my LA let alone get anything sorted out so I feel like I need to do something to make him realise that he can't just walk over me.
Although at the same time I don't really want to cause even more bad feeling. Pretty sure I'll be shown the door when my 6 months is up anyway :rolleyes:Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -

I thought that was if they were getting a new one done? It says if you are a new tenant then I should have one before moving into the property.Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
I can only act on the information provided.
Drea you said in OP that the tenancy started 1 month ago and in a recent post said the inspection was done 1st Sept, after you moved in!
Is this now not the case?

Sorry? The tenancy did start a month ago, and the inspection was done on the 1st September. What are you getting at?

Okay you have completely lost me. I haven't jumped the gun because I was a new tenant so should have had the gas safety check for moving in.
Or am I getting it all wrong...?Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -

The CAB has been campaigning on the issue of "retaliatory evictions" so, again ,if tenants want to see change they need to let the appropriate folk know what happens in the real world of renting. A decent LL would not get rid of a tenant simply because they checked up on what was legally required - and if you are a tenant who takes care of the property and pays their rent on time they have to balance all of that and consider whether they can afford a possible void on the property. They could take on another tenant who not only wants a gas safety cert but grows funny herbal substances and doesn't pay the rent - "better the devil you know" and all that :rotfl:
Many years ago as a newbie tenant I took my own LL to a rent tribunal, yet when I left the flat (out of choice a considerable time later) the LL told me I was one of his best tenants = property in good order and rent always paid on time (even prior to reductions!)0 -
Opening Post - Moved in 1 month ago.
2nd post you were present during gas inspection.
Recent post - Inspection done 1st September, after you moved in.
Result - NEW Certificate must be given to you with 28 days i.e. 28th September.
Now if you are saying that you didn't receive one when you moved in then that is an issue, but you do not say that.
