Hi, I have the same problem on shirts, I usually have to use surcare as other products make me itch as I suffer from eczema, any ideas to avoid me washing twice - once in ariel bio and then again in surcare?

Before I was allowed to handle enzymes (used to formulate washing powders in the R&D laboratory), I had allergy testing (at the hospital) on my skin.

As you have eczema, using any biological laundry product may cause inflammation/itching.

Have you tried a pre treatment before putting the garments in the machine? I'd try gently rubbing the stained areas with a bar of soap, just before washing in the machine with your normal (surcare) laundry product.;)

How about bicarbonate of soda? I thought that if you leave it as a paste on the sweat stains for a while it would work. But then I've never had to try it - so far. :o

I think you'll have to bite the bullet and use chemical. Vanish in wash powder works well on stains if you mix it to a paste and work it into the stain before you wash it.

  • I have a problem that with my deodorants my shirts discolour in the wash and turn a slight yellow or green or blue. Sometimes the area still smells of sweat when ironing even though I used a brand washing powder, tab or liquid.

Then after a short while the areas become brittle and the fabric rips. This affects mostly my white or cream coloured shirts.

What can I add to the washing?

I need the deodorant so cannot stop using them, but have tried all kinds of types but makes no difference.

    Help!

    I've been Money Tipped!
I was behind a vicar and his wife a while ago in tesco.

She had to get stains out of the choirboys shirts and I am sure she said she used soluble aspirin.

May be worth getting a cheap box from Tesco and giving them a go.

Damn, you beat me to it :D

I have tried soluble asprin on yellow underarms - and on a yellow shirt of OH's which had gone yellow from sun cream

They do need to soak for a while, and it is best to put the asprin in at the same time as the top so the bubbles go through the fabric IYSWIM
