I've heard before that vodka gets rid of sweat - a friend who worked in costuming in theatre said she used it a lot

    Hey guys,

Really sorry if that has been asked before - I did a quick search and couldn't find anything obvious.

My OH gets sweat stains on the armpits of his t-shirts. The stains are white and fairly solid (might be due to his deodorant?)

What is the best thing to use to remove them? A friend has recommended vinegar, but not what quantity to use, and I don't know whether it should be diluted?

Most of his t-shirts with this problem are black so we need to use something that won't fade the colour.

Any help appreciated! He's asked me to help him, but I'm no domestic goddess by any stretch of the imagination!

  • Deodorant or antiperspirant marks on clothes can easily be removed by using a bit of neat washing-up liquid and a gentle scrub with a nail-brush. Works a treat

I have no suggestions, but as this has fallen from the front page of OS, I'll add it to the existing thread so that you can have a browse of other suggestions :)

So does anyone know a good way to get dark sweat stains out? The two t-shirts I'm looking at are green and pink so its not white... I've googled it and seen aspirin as a suggestion and baby wipes. Does anyone know if these work or have any other suggestions?
  • Try White vinegar on them before you put them in the wash. I use it on my White tshirts and my other halts work shirts
