    ok the soaking variations havent worked so I'll give the warm oven trick a go tonight - I know you're all desperate to find out if I am able to sort this arent you ;)

  • ice in the top one and hot water for the bottom, do a bit at a time so none crack. One needs to expand and the other to contract

    thanks kittie - I thought about that last night actually, I put cold water in the bowl whilst the jug sat in hot water but I think the cold wasnt cold enough so will try ice tonight whilst warming the oven for the next trick!
