Royal Mail

Bought a Video off Ebay last week, Postman left a calling card, So went to local depot to collect it.

Usually have no problems without taking any ID, But the counter staff asked for it this time, And typically I didn't take it with me.

They have never asked before in the last 2 years, So I guess it depends who serves you??

They refused to give me the video, So I am calling in AGAIN this week between the 'Silly' hours of 7-12.

Not ideal timings to collect undelivered items, Due work hours etc.

What annoys me is they have never asked before for any ID, So why now??

Does it depend on who is working, Or what 'mood' they are in.

I did notice the lady before me, Was not asked for ID.

Best Regards.

  • The cards state you need ID therefore its your own fault for not taking any

Was she collecting free lightbulbs? :rotfl:

I think ID has always been required as per the card, they check more often now.

Royal Mail don't even bother leaving me a card saying there was an attempted delivery. As with many companies the prevailing attitude is 'We don't care.'

the lady in front was probably a regular

    now take the red card
    thats it
now turn it over, yes right there
where it says you require ID

there that was easy wasnt it?

on a serious note RM are pushing this on all DO's
so instead of whining, perhaps you could realise they are doing their job as required

as for unsuitable hours due to work
im glad i dont have to work,it really must interfere with your life
i work way beyond the opening times of my local DO

get the feeling ive heard all this before?
  • Read the card.Cant actually believe you are complaining that they are doing their job properly and that you were happier to deal with them when they werent. It is people like you that make britain great.

OMG! I hate that! I had a card left by RM and had to collect a parcel. Due to work, I couldn't collect it until Saturday. So off I trot (woke up early to catch my local RM depot) only to find that It was a delivery of free energy saving light bulbs from Southern Electric.

    Fuming was I.

You could try this if the times are inconvenient.

In our caller's office even regular customers are asked for ID most of the time.

Maybe the reason why you were askd for ID yesterday for the first time in 2 years is that maybe they have been warned by a more senior person to ask for ID,
