Tumble dry it on high for about eighty minutes?
On a more serious note - was it fully cooked and THEN got soggy from the fruit and sauce? Or is it undercooked? Either way... can you lift it off and bake it it the oven?Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. 3 out of 8 bottles have slight mould forming on the surfaces and I'm wondering if it's best to redo these i.e.., to rebottle and re-water bathe them, or is it best to chuck these out? as it was my first batch done about a month or so ago, the mould have only just started in the past week. as you may know making these was so time-consuming that i'd be v. upset to lose them. i think i know what may be the cause of these going mouldy and that was due to some of the bottles not being done in the water bath properly where the whole bottles weren't fully submerged in the water. hence, the possible cause of these bottles being infected with bacteria.
pls can someone tell me if i can salvage these or not...?
thanks.:beer::beer::beer:0 -
I'd be very concerned that the mould had migrated into the rest of the liquid, so I'd chuck - sorry

Hi
I'm sure this is an obvious question.. but if I slice an apple up to put in my partners lunchbox in its own tupperware container, will it go brown? I don't want to waste an apple trying it, and can't give him a whole apple as it will return home worse for wear and uneaten!:rotfl:

Yes it will though it bothers some people more than others. I think making a fruit salad & squeezing an orange (or lemon) over it all stops most fruit going too brown too quickly and is possibly a better solution.

It probably will go brown, but it will still be edible. It's just the cut edges oxidising. I often give my children a cut up apple in their lunchboxes and they eat them, so I'm sure a grown man can cope!0 -
Thankyou Justamum and Skint Catt
However, I think my grown man might reject brown apples unfortunately! Back to the drawing board...looks like tinned fruit in jelly is the best option of getting fruit in, theres only so long a banana every day will be tolerated for!GC2012: Nov £130.52/£125

Fruit in Lunch Box
My mum used to make me a fruit pie for monday's in my packed lunch when she made the pie for Sunday lunch, I loved Monday's packed lunches!
Also mum put home stewed fruit in homemade plain yougurt in my lunches.
2 good ways of getting fruit into a lunch with out going down the apple, orange, banana, apple orange banana, pear route."doing the best you enjoy, not the best you can tolerate, is truly the best you can do sustainably."0 -

Whole apple and small sharp fruit knife? You used to be able to buy such items, back in the day when you could take sharp objects on aeroplanes!Signature removed for peace of mind0
