  • Ollie, I always drain and rinse tinned kidney beans, the sludge always looks pretty unappealing!

Thanks for that, mummysaver :T. As I say, I normally do drain them but was just wondering what others do .

I ordered a delivery from Tesco yesterday (as we are all poorly) and i ordered the big 400g packs of value ham instead of the small ones (i wasn't really concentrating as i felt so rough).

Anyway has anyone frozen the Tesco value ham and is it ok to freeze it?

ps don't shoot me down for buying this awful cheap and nasty ham as my husband loves it

I've only just started freezing packet ham when I've found it cheap, mainly cos Morrisons were selling some reduced from £2.99 to 25p and I couldn't bear to leave it on the shelf! It's been fine when defrosted, well according to the kids and oh anyway, I'm veggie! Just make sure you freeze it in the amounts that you'll want to use when you defrost it - something I forgot to the the first time I cooked a whole ham, sliced it and froze the entire 2kg! :o

Alternatively invest in one of those silicone sheets ...

The silicone sheets are always in our local Poundland, I use them constantly, also saves on the amount of pan scrubbing needed! They are also brilliant for twinks hobnobs, the biscuits just slide off.

I just put my pizza dough on a baking sheet, top and leave to rise, then bake for about 20mins - but my pizzas are usually the size of a large roasting tin! Never have a prob with it being soggy on the bottom.

Seconding the silicone sheets - also available in B&M Bargains. They also had the re-useable silicon pockets for making toasted sandwiches (packs of 2) in an ordinary toaster :).

Never been that impressed with the silicone pockets - the sandwiches just aren't the same as in a 'proper' sandwich toaster, although the mess is considerably less!

It's the 'lack of mess' that I like about them. The sandwich toaster that I've got needs the bread to be a bit bigger than most slices of bread as it's never quite able to seal the sandwiches and the fillings always leak out.

The silicone pockets are great for kids to use though, mine are quite adept with them and don't create nearly so much washing up as they used to with the sandwich toaster!

Sorry to interrupt the pizza and ham questions - mine is a technical one.

I sometimes post links to places on t'interweb. Mine all come out as http://www etc etc

I used to know how to change the address so I could be flash and say, you can find the answer by clicking here

I don't know how to do this any more. It makes me feel very inept :(

Could some kind soul tell me what to do?

OK, do you see the 'world' icon with a chain link in front of it?

Type the text you want in the reply box. Then highlight it, then click on that 'world' icon and in there you type the web address you want to point to. Or, if it's a long link, you can open that page, copy the address and paste it into the box.

Like this. Which will not only tell you how to do this, but a whole load more besides.
