Did you read the comments on the recipe? Looks like they do tend to fall apart ...
You could try adding some flour, maybe that would help, but I'd probably go down the road of stuffing it all in the pan, then turning chunks of it.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Yeah I did, but they seemed to have the problem while cooking them, I can't even form a burger shape to start with.
I added flour and tried again, but it's still crumbly yet wet. I've pushed it into a mould (a biscuit cutter) and made 3 to leave in the fridge tonight. I'll see if that helps at all. Still have a lot of mixture left so hoping chilling them (and it) will firm it up a bit.

If not, could you maybe use the materials in pies or something? Throw in a bit of pastry?
Trying to think what else you could do with it. Fridging might harden them up though.A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Oh, go for 'dollops' then.
Not only is life sometimes too short to stuff a mushroom, sometimes it's too short to make burger shapes. :rotfl:
Although you might find being chilled overnight helps them.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
You could try putting the whole lot in an oiled frying pan, squashing it down flat then after about five minutes cooking stick it under the grill to cook the top and then cut into wedges but ............ it may still fall apart when you cut it!:rolleyes:0

Equally you could squish it all into the pan, then cut it into wedges with your spatula or turning implement, then try turning each of them. That saves heating the grill, which may or may not be MS for you.Signature removed for peace of mind0

The ones I made last night don't seem to have changed, but the remaining mixture seems to be a bit better. I'm not too fussed about a burger shape, but even attempting to cook them in any shape I think they'll just break up (so i'll have a pan of tiny pieces of carrot etc!)
I might try squashing some in a pan. My original plan was to make them up and then freeze them, which I think will make them even worse, but i'll have to do that, or just bin it all. Unless I attempt cooking them then freezing? I wonder if that would help.
The recipe says it makes 6 burgers...well i've got 4 so far and still got enough for I think about 10 more so I wonder what their portion sizes are like :eek:Grocery challenge - Nov: £52/£100

I wonder if you could turn it into a soup
. Add some vegetable stock , cook for a bit and blitz until smooth. Saves wasting it and you might have invented an unusual soup:D.

I'd be tempted to make some pastry and do sausage rolls with it. Or try cooking them in flattened dollops on a baking tray in the oven.

Not sure about soup or in a pie, it's a strange mix!
I have cooked one today and it pretty much held its shape (dry fried), so [STRIKE]one[/STRIKE] two more question(s) (sorry to be annoying!) If I cook them all in the oven do you think they'd then be ok to freeze? They're lovely, but I won't be able to eat them quick enough.
I was also thinking of adding a bit of honey to the mix to stick it together a bit more and that should hopefully brown and hold it together more. Do you think that might work?
Thanks for all your help! Don't think i'll bother with them againGrocery challenge - Nov: £52/£100
