Yes :T When you defrost, the coconut may separate, but it'll be fine once you've warmed it up.

About the chicken--you poke a skewer or some such into the thickest part of the leg & if the juices run clear, the bird is cooked. [I'm probably preaching to the converted but didn't like to ask a question without offing advice first :p]

I've managed to drop a whole pint of milk in our hallway today, so I'm looking for help with getting rid of the cheesy smell that is bound to come from the carpet over the next few days. I still haven't mastered the 'search' facility :o so apologise in advance for my numpty-ness.
    Thanks.

:rotfl:Yes, I know how to tell when a chicken is cooked, I just don't know how to predict how long it will take, especially when it's two chickens! It always seems to take longer in my oven anyway. I even have a meat thermometer but that's not very accurate either.

Someone better than me at searching will find specific links: my advice would be blot, blot, blot, blot and blot, then dampen and blot, blot, blot, blot and blot again. The less milk you leave behind, the less it can smell.

I find Febreze works well on the lingering smell of vomit, but I'm sure a dilute vinegar solution would also work.

I've just found a packet of currants (unopened) that had a best before date of May 07.

    Two questions:

    1. Will they kill me?
    2. What can I use them for? Suspect they were bought for a Christmas cake that never happened.

    Thanks :)

jessica - a) unlikely though they won't taste their 'best' and b) how about starting to make a christmas cake for this year? It's about time to start!

Unless they taste fermented or 'funny' I'd agree they'd be fine.

Soak them in tea for a tea bread if you think it's too early for Christmas cake.
