If it's not frozen, I'd give it about 20 mins at 180 C. Maybe cover it in foil to stop the top burning.

I've got a box of orange peel granules and some fresh orange juice. I want to make orangey cupcakes- can anyone suggest the quantities I need to add to a basic cupcake recipe please?
    TIA.

Substitute the juice for the same volume of liquid in the original recipe ;) Add some peel until it tastes/looks right - without knowing how concentrated it is, it's difficult to give quantities, sorry.

Thanks for your quick reply Penny! I was thinking about doing the weight of one egg=same quantity flour= same quantity marg=same quantity of sugar method for the cupcakes. So there isn't any liquids- maybe I should leave it out and just add the orange peel stuff.

    Thanks for your help :)

Hello, I bought a HUGE bag of Turmeric at the market. My question is - its really dayglow colour, is it soupposed to be quite so yellow? Have I bought a cheapo brand? I don't mind at all, as I will happily use it all up - but I'm curious. With many thanks - Moragx

    Hi mousey,

It's supposed to be like that :)
  • Hi. I have a chicken that I would like to cook in the SC for a change. Could someone please tell how you do the please?, timings, which heat setting and do I put any water in with it. I was going to do a roast for dinner today but think that it might be nicer with a salad considering it's going to hot again today, then the rest of it will be made in to a curry, chicken soup and maybe a chicken pie. TIA

Shelley I rub the chicken with butter/olive oil, add salt & pepper and a couple of tablespoons of water in the bottom of the slow cooker. I cook it on medium for about 6-8 hours. I have the Morphy Richards 6.5L slow cooker if that helps. Be careful when lifting the chicken out as the bones literally fall out of it ;) It's so tender though. HTH

Thanks sunny girl. My SC only has a low/high/warm setting so I might pop it on high for 2 hours and then turn it to low for the rest of cooking.
