    Debt-free and Proud!
Ive just brought some of the plastic bags that you put veg in to steam in the microwave, i havent used these before so fingers crossed.

My question is, i want to go to the farm shop and buy lots of veg which i will then prep and plan in freeze in small mixed portions in these bags to use over the next month. If i do this, will the veg keep ok and will it all go soggy when i defrost it prior to steaming? Also is it ok to mix the veg up and freeze together?

    Many thanks

That's going to depend largely on which vegetables you are intending to freeze. Some do better than others, some need blanching while others don't.

Have a browse in the link below and look under the heading "Freezing"...

    Hi
I have very squeaky hinges on my bathroom door and no WD40 to put on them, I was wondering if anyone here had any OS suggestions for what I could use to loosen them up? I was thinking olive oil but I don't know if that would work
    Thanks!

Olive oil would work fine, as would any other oil :T

Is it not also going to depend partly on the bags themselves? I don't know them myself, but if they are for steaming do they have little holes in? If they do, then putting them in a larger unholey bag might be recommended.

Also you might find you don't have to defrost before cooking, I'm sure it will all be in squeaky's link.

    Hello,
When I make lasagne for some reason the top layer of lasagne sheets go curled up and are too crunchy. Please can someone suggest where I am going wrong? I suspect I am either cooking the lasagne for too long or not enough, or too high up in the oven (I usually put it on top shelf).
    Many thanks, sarah

Is it possible to freeze cooked meat? The kind you buy sliced for sandwiches? I'm a grown woman and feel I should know the answer to this. :o It's cheaper to buy 2 or 3 packs at a time.

There's a recipe here. It makes 12, so for your 60 scale up the recipe by 5 :D

I'll add this to that thread later.
