  • This week so far:

    IN:
Food shopping - we have an almost unblemished record this week in terms of eating what we have bought, save for one small unloved sticky toffee pudding (too sweet) which has been evicted :D

    PENDING:
    5 eBay sales awaiting payment

    OUT:
(inspired by this thread) - 3 divorced socks whose partners have long since gone
one bag of shredded bills/bank statements to compost (again, thanks to this thread)
one bag of kitchen scraps to compost - I have also left the chestnuts that have gone old and wrinkly on the top in case the squirrels can make use of them
two bags of glass to recycling
three bags of paper to recycling

More wombling to take place this weekend. I have signed up to make £10 a day for February, and I need to get some eBaying underway.

I'm still banging on with my new mantra - don't put it down, put it away! Working wonders for all the bits of paper which come through the door, crockery, cutlery etc. No more piles of stuff. Everythiing does have a 'home' even if it's the bin!

Wish me luck in keeping up the enforcement.

Hi, I have been reading this thread and it sounds like me. Been trying to declutter since last summer and made the mistake of telling my mum who now asks how I'm doing every time she rings!

So made another start yesterday & I can thank the stray cat that has adopted us, he was asleep in the wardrobe, I went to look for him and came across a bag of ps 1 games that haven't been seen or used in years.

    so yesterday
    In:
box of seed potatoes to start chitting
lots of bean seeds (free from friend)
2 bottles of wine (much needed support for decluttering)
    OUT:
    1 bag ps1 games
    1 bag ps 2 games

today does not seem like such a good day when I think of the pending:

    Pending in:
    fridge for camper (from freecycler)
possible other camping items (as above)

    Pending out:
bag of mags (to freecycler, just been taken)
empty wine bottles (to bottle bank, decided we don't need to store them up for our homebrew as we are not going to stop drinking wine!)

Veg seed bought with the 20% saving
    Carpet sweeper from freecycle

    Out:
    Broken ipod - freecycled
3 bags of baby stuff - freecycled

Sunday Best - Use Up Stuff, Don't Keep It
Am using up lovely Kiel's shampoo specifically given to me to use while in hospital having a baby, to make me feel pampered. I didn't use it, as I wanted to save it for "best". How mad is that?
  • I am just having a break from wombling, so I thought I'd check in. I'll do the full in & out lists when I have finished (probably tomorrow).

In the meantime, I have been pondering on the following:
"I knew I needed to declutter when I lost a suitcase somewhere on the first or second floor..." I'll let you know if/when I find it.

And Sunday Besting - Below a light layer of dust, I smell sweetly of Jo Malone Orange Blossom body lotion, courtesy of OH.
