I wanted to post because I'm feeling all pleased with myself - I've finally admitted that the sweatshirts (3) and trousers (4 pairs) that I've been hanging onto are NOT going to fit on my carcass again, and put them in the charity box. Better yet, the box is a tad full right now (we keep one on the go, and chuck bits in when we come across them usually) so Mr LW is going to drive me into Newport Pagnell tomorrow after my audiology appointment to hand it over.:j:j:j A bit more of the [STRIKE]junk room[/STRIKE] spare room floor visible!:D

Oh dear................today has been abysmal - I've got rid of nothing which is pretty scary - on the radio at lunchtime there was a discussion about hoarding and someone had been found dead under a pile of stuff they'd bought for no reason..........house was fully of stuff and one case mentioned the chap had to create sort of tunnels through the 'stuff' to get in and out of his house.
Don't think I'm as bad as that but it was amazing how many people phoned in and said they had this habit of hoarding !
So, this weekend I must really give myself a kick start !!

Ah yes, we listened to this, too! Then DH suggested to go out for a winter walk in the frozen landscape, which we did, but I didn't dare do nothing again - so on return decluttered a chest of drawers and achieved still a tiny little bit:

OUT: three drawers full of general clutter. True, some of the stuff I found needed re-homing elsewhere in the house, but a lot also ended up in the black bag. I now have 3 completely empty drawers and it has cheered me no end!

    IN: nothing at all

It's a start. More will be done at the weekend.

Not done masses but sorted out my cupboard in the utility room, started sorting out my cupboard with a stupid twisty drawer thing so I can remove it and put a shelf in. Sorted out another cupboard and will continue with our kitchen cupboards.

Out: 3 black sacks of rubbish to tip. 1 carrier bag glass stuff.
In: 3 tops and a pair of jeans from French connection sale. 1 jumper, 1 cardi, 1 top (FC from ebay) 1 pair jeans for DD (ebay) and 1 pair of jeans (FCUK) from ebay which were misadvertised and I can't even get the damn things on my legs (and I don't have fat legs!). They're supposed to be bootcut so I want my money back- (do you think I'll get my P&P back as it was wrapped in a tesco bag and inside out used wrapping paper?

    Must continue to declutter........

Well I said I was going to clean and declutter the whole house this week, think I might have been a bit too optimistic

I have however done the spare bedroom, the bathroom and our bedroom so upstairs is very clean and clutter free, well mostly. Still got to do the walk in wardrobe in the back bedroom and another drawer (in the bed) in our room.

I'm not sure what I've got rid of to be honest, I have got two big bags full of clothes, make up, perfume, smellies, jewellery etc to give to my sister. I've thrown loads of stuff out, reorganised everything etc. I've got loads of bits and bobs for Freecycle and two bags of clothes for the charity shop.

I'm really feeling it now so I think I am going to take it easy this weekend. The kitchen looks like a bomb has gone off in it because I started emptying the cupboard under the stairs to sort that out then realised I couldn't lift some of the boxes but that's just going to have to wait til I can get my OH to help me. He doesn't believe in cleaning or decluttering of any kind
 Think happy & you'll be happy
    I :heart2: my doggies
  • Well, kitchen is in (sort of) and I have thrown bags and bags of rubbish away. Have also sorted my wardrobe and taken loads to recycling.

Hadn't heard about the poor sould who died, but still remember Mr Trebus from a Life of Grime, I don't think any of us are that bad, or are we

Anyway, just finishing off knitting a lovely long cardi, so in a sense that is decluttering as that is one less bag of knitting lying around :T

Good luck everyone, we may be 'minimalist' one day :D
