The dining room table is groaning under the sheer weight of DD2's clothes.
Best part is she has sorted three bags of clothes for the charity shop, one bag for the rag man and is now washing and ironing the other pile of clothes for UNI and to keep at home.
We can now get into her room, but cannot turn around in it, because of assorted "treasures". Will have to start on those later this afternoon.
Whilst I would have taken a photo, she has banned it as too "urgh mum".
Jumble sale and tip come to mind!!!;)0 -

Just had a little "15 minute room to room blitz" and achieved the following:
Mug from front room into the kitchen and into the dishwaster. Item of post from the kitchen into the spare room for filing. Couldn't find anything to come out the spare room so back to the front room - found two gift bags from my birthday that will now be reused so those (and their attendant tissue paper) went through to the drawer under the bed in the bedroom, which is full of christmas stuff. Tried the drawer the other side which turned out to be full of clothes that either don't fit or I won't wear any more - cleared those out (two jumpers to go to my Aunt, one top for my best friend, and a full sack for the Hospice shop - I will take them there on Saturday morning) and moved all the gift wrapping stuff into the (now empty) drawer. :j Finally another armful of books from the bedroom bookcase out to the front hallway for the book exchange. I feel all virtuous now! :A🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

20 minutes spent shredding a basket load of old paperwork in my office today. Then filled basket with some of my books to be brought home...will have to sneak them in past DH when he's not looking! Have decided to offer all my management type books to my successor - she may find one or two useful, if not she can bin them! Nothing done on the home fron t today tho'!Resolution:

Just seen new thread. It's around 4 years since I first started de-cluttering and this is where I'm currently at. This is purely to do with de-cluttering, I'm not saying the rooms are currently tidy
or even clean.
dd's bedroom - 100% done
ds's bedroom -95% done (he has some boxed games that need checking to see if they still have all the bits -if they don't then they are going;) )
our bedroom -75% done - I am waiting a couple more weeks, just in case before sorting out t-shirts in favour of jumpers and I'm not touching Mr S's stuff.
bathroom -98% done, it was 100% then I noticed the kids had got several toothbrushes on the goas well as several toothpastes, which comes from them announcing I don't like that flavour:mad:
Hallway and landing/living room/kitchen - all 100% done
Dining room and conservatory - I'm giving this 80% but this is purely cos of the paperwork that is in these rooms that still needs acting upon.0 -
Well I spent all Saturday clearing out the spare room, and finishing off our room. I got rid of loads of baby clothes, sorted out a huge bag of my clothes for Freecycle and then a bag I wanted to keep. Then I gave away the bin liner of clothes I wanted to keep!!!!!!! (by accident)  I was soooooo gutted. I didn't even realise til I went to get something out of the bag I wanted to keep, and saw all the clothes I was meant to be getting rid of.
Safe to say I'll be de-cluttering a bit more carefully from now on :rotfl:Debts May 09 [strike]£100 Od[/strike], [strike]£1550 boiler[/strike], [strike]£1750[/strike] £400 credit card  Goal - to 3k of savings by Oct 2009 in time for Baby num 2 :j Total so far £12000 -
It must be that time of the year, clothes are flying out everyone's homes. I guess we are all looking to winter
I've another bag going to Oxfam tomorrow as I have a couple of M&S labels in there
clothes out, £5 voucher in YAY!!
I'm going to sort the kitchen cupboards today and look through the freezer.
have a good day everyone, happy de-cluttering :j0 -
Is anyone else as daft as me and gets excited when the binmen are coming?
I fly round the house finding the tiniest scraps of paper for the recycling bin, I drain the last of a bottle of lemonade just so's the bottle can go in the recycling bin straight away rather than wait for another fortnight to go, I wash out tins and stick them out in the recycling and my worst obsession yet, I went out to the bins in my nightie, early in the morning just to put two teabags in the bin!!! I just hate having unecessary stuff hanging around.
Last week my husband said he needed new blades for his razor. I looked in the bathroom cabinet yesterday and found a stack of about seven of the holders that razor refills come in and every single one of them was full of used razor blade cartridges! Why on earth does he put it back in the box instead of just chucking it in the bin?? So ofcourse the binmen took those this morning!
Not much else achieved lately but then I'm not too cluttered nowadays. Still have some stuff to eBay. I don't know why I don't just get on and do it cos I could do with the money in my Paypal account!I'm so sorry if you were enjoying this thread and mine is the last post!!
I seem to have a nasty habit of killing threads!0
