  • Ouch! Sorry to hear that. Get well soon.

Decluttering is going ok over here, but does anyone have any ideas for what to do with the number of chargers I have (and don't know which phones they fit)?

I can't bear to send stuff to landfill, have tried freecycle and can't find my camera charger to list on ebay! Is there a company like Mazuma, Envirofone etc that recycles chargers???

any shop that sells items with chargers, legally has to take them off you for recycling. part of the WEEE scheme :) drop em at currys or a Carphone warehouse or something x

I remember Connie cupboards!!!!!!! I was watching that episode and saying to DH- "That's you that is!"
    Since last posting.
In: Food shopping. 2x 5 shelf pine storage units (1 erected in DS's room as I refused to tidy it as I wasn't allowed to get rid of anything by DH and you couldn't actually get to the floor.) Not too many presents for DD's birthday- in fact still waiting for her main present to arrive . Birthday food.
Out: chest of drawers from our room to DS's. CoD from his room to MiL. 4 black sacks of rubbish as bin day tomorrow. Birthday food (1/2 packet of biscuits left now, phew!)

Pending: 1 pine shelf unit- won't fit in DD's room it's huge and I told DH to get a little plastic drawer unit - after Christmas (wally). Bag2school clothes 1 bag in hallway 4 in boot! 6 carrier bags of various sizes recycling. 2 ikea units that I hope to bung on freecycle. 1 shoe box (ottoman) as DS's old toy box is to be used for shoes apparently. I feel it's unfair for him to have everyones shoes in his room but they will both have to accomodate some of our stuff in their bedrooms for a little while as we are about to do our bedroom.

    Shall continue to update sporadically.

PS: Do I get extra points for having gutted my friends kitchen on Monday? I was looking for a cup to make coffee and couldn't find anything so I rearranged her whole kitchen. She now has about 4 empty cupboards, a dining room table, a floor etc etc. About 1/2 way through she said I was the only person she knew who would come round and do this- I replied she was probably the only person I would come round and do it to! That's what happens when you have known each other since you were 9 and lived together too!

Technically they only have to take them if you buy an equivalent item, but a lot of place just have recycling bins were you can leave electrical waste. Stuff like batteries should also go for recycling rather than to landfill...

Hi do you think I could join in please?

I've always been a bit of a hoarder and am forever keeping things 'just in case' but it's getting ridiculous!! I have been quite good lately and given away piles of stuff on freecycle. DD2 has split up with her partner and moved back home with DGS (22months) and brought half of her house with her:eek:!!! So really need to get rid!
You wouldn't believe the amount of stuff that DGS has - how can such a small person accumulate such a huge amount??

Anyway I gather we post what we bring in and out is that right?

I have several items pending -
bag of clothes for CS (missed the collection on mOnday:rolleyes:)
broken freezer (in yard waiting to go to tip)
2x boxes of household items to be given to needy young people (just need to get them there!!)
duvet in need of cleaning (waiting in hall till I take it)
big bag of juice cartons waiting to go to recycling
various jars and bottles for recycling
    batteries for recycling

I just need to get on and do it don't I:rolleyes:

    4 bags of food shopping
8 xmas pressies – all bargains though!
    A dress for xmas do
A bag of stuff from boots
    1 magazine
    1 ring for me!
    2 library books
Packaging for ebay – its sad when you see a box and think – ooh that’ll be ideal for an ebay package!
George foreman grill – god knows why but OH got it and now I have to find a place to store it – don’t want it, am vegetarian so its use is quite limited for us, so ill try and find a cupboard so we don’t need to have it on display cluttering up the place!
A bag of shredding form people at work – will be used as chicken bedding!

    Out
A bag of magazines to sister
A bag of clothes to charity shop
    2 old nail varnishes
Lots of junk mail, shredded and used for chicken bedding
    Nephew’s birthday pressie
Cd tower sold – big declutter!
3 things selling on ebay plus associated packing
MIL has gone and taken all her stuff with her – she has a lovely new flat and we have our lovely spare room back – everyone’s a winner!!

Its not great really – too much stuff coming in, but hopefully most of it is temporary, being xmas pressies or library books or what not! Will try harder next week although the ebay side may have to quiten down – im so sick of people complaining about the tiniest things – they really have you over a barrel as im terrified of getting back feedback or paypal being suspended – sometimes its just not worth the hassle!
