Trying to stay 'clutter neutral' but revamp the house at the same time:o

    OUT:
    - 25 year old cake tins x 3
    - saggy chipboard bookcase
    - old curtains
    - bag of books
All recycled either to charity shop if good, to recycling centre if not.
    - old bathroom mat (bin)
    - 2 old saucepans (to DS's student house ;))

    REPLACED with
    - charity shop Laura Ashley curtains
    - carboot sale glass doored bookcase (repainted)
    - 1 cake tin (£2.49 - need another 2 but none in stock!)
    - 1 mat £1.99

I'm really trying not to 'replace' the books with more, so went to the library.

    Way to go!!

    For me:

Out - a boot load to the tip, including a cruddy old aerofoil for the car that husband aquired from a 'friend' at work last week - the car is his pride and joy, new two years ago - I was pleased that he heard the incredulity in my voice when I said 'You don't mean to tell me you're seriously going to put THAT on your lovely car' - what it might have saved in diesel, it would have cost x10 in repairs to the paintwork, by the time he'd lashed the revolting thing on....

Also out - little grandson to the park for the afternoon - dancing to the brass band, playing in the park then having a good old splash about in the paddling pool.

    In
fruit and veg for the week - no other shopping for the mo - we're having an 'eat it from the freezer week' this week! Total food bill, £10.52, & £5 Morrison's voucher
Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!

Get yourself back to the library! You know it makes sense - the books are even cheaper there than they are at the boot sale; huge range; if you want something in particular, you can order it, and, once you've finished with it, you take it back, and there's NO CLUTTER at the end of the process!!!!

:rotfl:Good point, very strongly made!! I think I need to take you with me on my next car boot sale jaunt!

    IN:
4 goodie bags from a party we went to yesterday - bubble pots & bouncy balls kept.

    OUT:
a whole recycling box of paper - yippee!!
    cake from goodie bags (eaten)
some small toys from goodie bags (Operation Xmas child)
8 items of clothing to a charity bag which is being collected on Thurs
    1 ruined paint roller
6 story tapes - destroyed by toddler - bin

Not sure much is going to be achieved this week - lots of activities on where it's the last week of school/ playgroup and 2 dr's appointments for postnatal checks for me & DS3 - will be impressive if I maintain status quo in the house, let alone improve!

Haven't been making much progress recently - although OH has got rid of some clothes - well they've made it into the recycling bag so far.

But will probably have a guest visiting soon so the urgency to sort the spare room and 'find' the bed has increased. Most of the stuff in there I do want (sentimental stuff) - just not necessarily right now so need to find good homes,.
