I have an epilator but I don't think I would go this low on razors, anyone tried them? Worth an experiment methinks
I have tried them! They are fine! I do notice they go blunt quite quickly but at 2.5p each... they are worth it!0 -
I've used them too and they're fine. I've also used the Tesco Value ones, the Poundland ones & Wilkinson's they all come in at about the same price & I don't look like a yeti yet  Best for regular shaving of the legs & underarms though they struggle with winter growth on the legs - not that mine ever get like that

The enchiladas sound lovely and I would love to know how to cook these and I have a few sweet potatoes to use up and this sounds great.
Much appreciated x
This is the Sweet Potato Stew recipe I use. It is one I used to do when I was on weight watchers, but I have tweeked it quite a bit so don't think there will be a copyright problem putting it here-
Serves 4
1 onion, peeled and chopped
2 Tbsp Veg oil
2 garlic cloves, peeled and crushed
2 Tsp grated root ginger
Pinch cayenne pepper
Two medium/ large sweet potatoes, cut into 2.5cm (1 inch) cubes
Tbsp curry paste
Can of passatta (or a whizzed up can of tinned tomatoes)
Vegetable stock
Dozen mushrooms, quartered
Large handful spinach leaves, washed and trimmed
60ml (4 tbsp) peanut butter
Chop the onion and fry until soft with the ginger and garlic. Add the mushrooms and stir through the curry paste. Cook for 5 minutes. Add the sweet potatoes, passatta and cayenne pepper along with half a pint of vegetable stock. Bring to the boil and simmer for 20 minutes or so until the potatoes are soft. Stir in the peanut butter until well melted and mixed with the sauce. I sometimes find it easier to melt the peanut butter down first with a couple of tbsp of hot stock, but this isn't essential. Add the spinach leaves and cook until wilted.
I actually only use about half that amount of peanut butter and find it plenty rich enough. Delicious served with couscous or just a salad.
Costing this out with the prices I paid (bought onions and sweet potato on offer) I make this £2.09 for the lot- 52p a generous portion when made with frozen spinach!
Vegetable enchiladas don't really have a recipe the way we make them! It's just some onions, peppers, cherry tomatoes and mushrooms sauteed with some cayenne, paprika and chilli powder. I then wrap this mixture in tortilla wraps, pour over a jar of passatta or tin of tomatoes whizzed up, top with plenty of grated cheese and bake for 20-30 minutes. Serve with sour cream on the side.
I am experimenting with frozen spinach in the stew as Mr S had run out of fresh, but that will definitely shave some pennies off the cost. I might also make a sag aloo type thing with the questionable looking potatoes I have in the cupboard!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
I like costco!
spent £61.68
but that included a pair of slippers and 2 pairs of yoga pants. This is so I can hang round all day in what feels like my pyjamas but is actually presentableish if I go out :rotfl:
so that left £42.70 on food
I got: 6x 2.5kg tins of toms £8.49, the same amount of asda smartprice tomatoes would've cost me £12.37 :money::money::money:

Hi Weezl - did you find out the details of the individual membership for me?
I'd love to be able to go there and have a good look round.
Back from work at last and OH wants fish and chips for tea - I'm in no state to argue today, work was far to intense today.0 -
enjoy your fish and chips jayjay!:T
there are a few employers and professions that if you work for one of them you can have an individual membership, but it's slightly more expensive than the trade membership. People who work as dentists, in education and as civil servants count. As do accountants... it all seemed a bit random to me!
The individual membership is £25.
Sorry not to be more help, but I think you're going to have to ring your local store and check if you qualify
