Go Weezl!
I think I'll have a lunchtime mosy in HB tomorrow for the first time which is quite close to work instead of Mr "massive" T's which is next door. Have been thinking about this for a while and may stock up on a few things. I didn't realise they sold food items.

Good evening. Glad you had a good root around Home Bargains Weezl and that you saved more than you lost on IYSWIM?
I was chatting to my good friend this afternoon about what it is to be a frugalista, especially in the kitchen. We had a good ruminate and came up with the answer that it's about making the most of the best priced ingredients that you can get. A big discussion for a Thursday afternoon it was! What does everyone else think?
Lovely evening meal tonight - sweet & sour chicken & rice. I made it with 2 chicken breasts, cut up very small, and 2 peppers, a grated carrot & a grated courgette to pad it out to feed us all. It was very tasty and scoffed by everyone. I used 2 jars of sweet & sour sauce that I found lurking in the back of the cupboard last weekwhen I cleared it out. Does anyone have a sweet & sour sauce recipe that makes a lot of sauce as the kids all like their plates drowning in it

I'm having a real down day today
Yesterday I was really chuffed at my old style frugal ways but today it's just really getting me down that it's through necessity rather than choice. I'm so fed up with being constantly skint. We've got a holiday coming up in 10 weeks time and I'm doing my best to stop unnecessary spending but it doesn't seem to be doing any good, each weekly payday rolls around and there's nothing left from the last week.
*sigh*
Feeling decidely lonely tonight too, OH has gone out riding with some friends but I wasn't in the mood so I'm at home alone. Haven't even had anything to eat cos I'm just really low. Someone tell me to snap out of it and give me a good reason to cheer up :mad:0 -
Caz ((((((((big))))))))) hug hon. It's miserable having days like you've had - I've had plenty myself - but just think that although you may be skint you're not wracking up tons of debt on stuff to make yourself feel better. I've done that in the past too
Give yourself a pat on the back for doing so well through the tough times and celebrate your ability to do it - lots can't xxxxx0 -
Thanks Sunny Girl, you're right, I'm not wracking up tons of debt, and thankfully it's because of paying it off that we're so skint at the minute. In a desperate attempt to pay it off asap I've stretched us quite far, but we'll be debt free the very week we go on holiday in August so yey to that!! Post-holiday we'll be much better off, although I think my frugal ways will stick for the most part (LOADS of work to do in the house and a baby to start making!).0

aww huge hugs for you cazz...we all get times like that so i'll send a hug instead of a slapping! Why not have a nice hot bath with some bubbles and an early night? May be just that you are tired? We all get days when the scrimping, cooking, sorting ete gets us down and no wonder-this being frugal is hard work...esp when youre a carp as me and love shopping!!
oo crossed posts! Fab that you'll be debt free soon and then will have lots of "raspberry ripple" sessions (with cream?!!) and a baba! Wonder if this thread will be like a famous desk in our work...everyone whose sat there recently has got pregnant (I wont...vague recollection that after the "ripple" there is meant to be some action or such?!!)...sorry weezl...couldnt help myself!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1!
