You know you can do it with...
2 eggs and 125g of the other ingredients,
3 eggs and 175g
4 eggs and 225g depending how much cake you want.
I do love a flexible recipeGod is good, all the time

Do you have the recipe? ( must keep on thread track;))Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
sunnygirl I'm going to Homebargains tomorrow, which dried fruit is good? Does it beat asda 63p for 500g? I'll be well chuffed if so!
I totally love that shop!!!
I hope you have been looking on the home bargains thread to hear all the latest great offers
I can highly recommend the brown coloured bags of chocolate mishapes, they are thornton bars and there are about 10 in a bag for 99p, now not totally frugalicious but totally delish! Great value olives etc at the moment too in our local one and there are normally some great offer non branded chocolate bars that would be great for baking. It is my shop of choice for present buying too, lots of little things that work well in my random gifts. (the wine is always good too, much better value than supermarket ones and almost always a known brand, ooh, and sharpies are really cheap too... Okay, I am a little obsessed)
Thanks for all the yummy recipes, will be trying some soon.
Hope all is good with everyone, am going to try and sleep with the sound of the rain on the skylight above my headGod is good, all the time

BOB I can't really remember the quantities for the raspberry ripple, but I'll be making some more soon so will post... I made it with waitrose raspberry jam (do you remember when martin posted about getting 20% off at waitrose...)
Isom, it's on cowbridge road east just opposite St David's hospital...

@Cazz, it really is ridiculous, and when you use mysupermarket.com you'll see that all the basic are the same... Did someone say price fixing?
My mother is a compulsive shopper, she has cupboards literally bursting at the seams with tins and jars of this and that (she's addicted to Home Bargains and the like) and she's got enough stuff to see her through til next century, but a lot of it is heading towards the best before dates etc so in an effort to help her out and save us money I might do a storecupboard challenge but using HER cupboards. She's asked me to do this as she's running out of space so I've GOT to help her out really haven't I! :rotfl:
Made sweet mincemeat shortbread last night which OH wolfed down with immense gusto, made 16 squares and costed them at 3.5p per square (55p for the batch) so way better value than the supermarket.
Good feeling isn't it :A0 -
Ooh, I think I am going to have to try the 12p shampoo. I currently use Herbal Essences, but only buy it when it's on offer so I reckon it is roughly 10 x more expensive than the value stuff but I am willing to give it a whirl.
Made a lovely frugal veggie chilli last night- still using up my stash of quorn mince from when it was on offer for 99p a bag. I made it £1.60 for the whole lot, making it 40p a portion. 'Twas very nice, with lots leftover for tonight.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
It just makes it bloody difficult when the advice given by all the money savers is "buy basic ranges" etc, but the prices have suddenly shot up forcing you to double your budget. Although...
i completely agree cazz. just buying value ranges is not enough. I've had to constantly juggle meal plans around food price variations, it certainly is taxing on the grey cells.:DMade sweet mincemeat shortbread last night which OH wolfed down with immense gusto, made 16 squares and costed them at 3.5p per square (55p for the batch) so way better value than the supermarket.
