  • Cw is that the one that I am a member of? People on there are very generous...did a swap once and still have a gorgeous bracelet that a girl made! Thoughtfulness like that eases the pain doesent it...
Weezl re the carrots at least you can eat them and the beetroot is bound to taste yummy as all that goodness packed into a smaller space?! Regardless at least they grew which is more than can be said for anything (other than weezl flowers and strawberries) on my plot...must nurture more this year but hard when you have to go IYKWIM! Can you summarise the babybook in terms of "taking" them to the loo - am fascinated on this...I remember when people used to have a fit about taking a baby swimming (as a baby) but they take to it like ducks to water...
Hope you all have a good day...a off to give my friend a lesson on cross stitch and get some baby cuddes with B who now smiles readily at me so I'm smitten. Best warn Fergus Weezl cos I've loved him as a bump too!! No smiling at auntie A or she'll kiss ya to death - for verification just ask Alfie!!

    Hello all!

Realised I didn't give you the cheats fudge recipe.... D'oh, :o here tis:

    cheat's fudge

I used dark choc in one double batch and added pecan bits, and used white choc in the other and added glace cherry pieces.

My verdict: The white choc one is exceptionally sweet (probably I will give it to children rather than grown ups!) I might use something with a bit of sourness like those lovely dried cranberries... That would be quite christmassy too....

the chocolate pecan one is very lovely, but you need to keep it warming up while you stir through the icing sugar (can't believe a 'fool-proof recipe went wrong for me, how embarassing!:o) or you get a little butter separation at the end.

I'm amazed we are managing to store it and not devour the lot. We have put it in tupperwares on top of the fridge, too high for me to reach, but AM is showing marvelous restraint! :D

Dear freecycle, I PMd you when my fab pressie arrived, did you not get it?! Oh no! Thank you thank you thank you.:j:j

For those intrigued, she has sent two books highlighting amazing parenting techniques: no nappies (at all) and sleeping with your child in your bed for the first few years. I don't know if anyone's published a book suggesting that you do both at the same time... imagine rolling over onto a freshly laid patch of brown  It's a worrying thought gentle reader!

All joking aside, I think there is some fascinating wisdom in these books. The writer of diaper free is very enamoured with 'the lucid beauty of every pregnant woman'- marvelous! I shall call this to mind when I discover another varicose vein! (AM says it's just a bruise and I'm catastrophising!!!)

Love to you all (and a big hug to CW18, and one from AM to you too)

Weezl, AM and Fergie ('I like to kick all the day long....')

many thanks for the cheats fudge recipe will certainly have a go at that, one question where do you get the cellophane gift bags from?

haven't posted on here for a while as have been a bit busy but I hope all is well with you weezl,am and little fergus :D

    Hello all

Just sticking my nose back through the door :D

Carrie -I have some cellophane bags leftover from hamper making last year...they are clear with gold star patterns -
    95mm x 160mm -think I have 20
    115mm x 190mm -have 10
    145mm x 235mm -10 i think
will PM you through nonnymouse to see if you want them ;)

Well Back to "normal" Im still being good on the foody spends... the remoska has taken over -3 months now since I switched the oven on :T ....

The veggies are looking great folks :j .. I am all set to start again .. have the broad beans set -not popped through yet -but they are on their way:D

Im crafting like a demon... mum managed to get me a 10mm 12mm and 15mm crochet hook yesterday -so i will soon be able to make a start on my ultra chunky wool :T ..in the craft shop mum was talking to the owner and she said that the financial situation has actually improved her sales, as folks have realised that even though it costs more to knit a nice jumper -they last longer, wear better and fit....
So it looks like its spreading... the "throw away" society is shrinking :T
Right now -im flitting from knitting, crochet, cross stitch and jewellery making :rotfl: (i have made nearly £50 for the hospice so far from jewellery:D ) .... and a lovely lady on the nonnymouse site has offered me a tapastry cushion kit a "ehrman klimt" design..I have never done tapestry before -but I will learn ;)
    Right enough waffle
hope everyone is ok,,, hugs to all those in need :D
    -6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.5

Shaz...what a lovely neat, productive bed of veggies...I still suffer from dealing with OH who considers that you need feet rather than inches between individual veg...we have some lovely small beetroot but I was slated as I put them too close together...my dear late MIL used to grow beetroot almost as big as a football, cook them for an hour or so, then freeze them and finish off the cooking when she wanted to use them...

Broad beans are up, salad stuff all doing well in greenhouse and spinach thriving in veg beds, more beds planned for next year...if I can ever move OH off his butt...I really resent buying stuff when we could grow 75 percent of our needs with a bit of an effort.
