Hi Charis
The Sunrise one or the Big Chill one? Errr....I can't see a link to click on for that there You Tube video.........
Sorry, I was sure I put it in. I have done now. Big Chill and Sunrise, but more BC because I think it was their people who made the video. The woman in the neon dress at the beginning was....incredible. Not sure if I liked her or not. I referred to her as an orange whirling dervish at the time. There is a tiny sample of her voice on there. Unique.
Well...Charis ...we live and learn....we've probably both been thinking the other one wouldnt go to summat like that - and we coulda been sitting next to each other at one:D Is this "Aging hippies of the world unite" time here?:D Altogether now and in tune "All we are saying is Give Peace A Chance"....
I didn't think I would go but I was invited, so I did. I still wouldn't like to camp there as the tents all seemed to be touching each other with no room to walk between them. I was really surprised how cool everyone was though. There was no age barrier thing either. I had some interesting conversations. So - I'll look out for a woman that matches my mental picture of you shall I then if I ever do end up going anywhere the Buddhafield or Big Green Gathering Festivals? LOL
I don't even match my own mental picture of me.:rotfl:0 -
I hate clutter and I hate rooms full of THINGS
I could live quite happily in an all-white room with only a couch, a fire and a window. As long as I had my comp , a few good books, and maybe some knitting

Well...I've got one bit right for you then Mardatha - the white.....most of my house is painted white! Just a few books - errrr.....RATHER a lot of books - I guess my simplifying on the book front is that the books are all grouped in categories: food/Green/Buddhist/pagan/household/environmental/New Age - various/alternative health/gardening/etc.....so I can lay my hands readily on whatever subject is predominating in my mind at the moment...just a bit of an eclectic collection chez ceridwen...:D
P.S. Edited to add: and however minimalist you go Mardatha - dont forget that MSE style wind-up lantern. I signed off and switched off the light just after this post - and every light in the house blew. Like I said - don't forget that lantern. Managed to grope my way downstairs in the dark and find mine! Not just a good idea for the likely coming intermittent blackouts then!0 -
marthada - oh dear..........my house would be an absolute nightmare for you! Tis for me sometimes.....................lol
Never mind, general rule seems to be that after Christmas we (including OH) have a clear out to make room for the stuff we've had for Christmas.........New Year and new broom sweeping clean.............well sort of.........lol
Getting a bit clearer in computer room as stuff gets shunted upstairs to my santas grotto in the spare room..............at last I feel I can breathe........must have a look into every nook and cranny to make sure there's nothing tucked away there that should be part of someones pressie.:j Just a few more bits and I'll be done..........by this weekend !!! That's a total 'must' !! We're off the weekend after so everything just has to be done by then. Oh what bliss it will be to get rid of all the pressies..............then it will be 'out with the decorations'...................lol Thankfully they're the boring old plastic greenery garlands but once they're up they look ok. Simple scheme..........just them and a tree with gold baubles on and lights.........:jMary

You're having a rough time of it lately Ceridwen, what with the CH off and the power going. Have you thought about getting some little wind-up torches from Woollies (before they go out of business) I got two for £6 - at that price they are cheap enough to have one in every room. We have already had several serious power cuts this autumn/winter. The little wind up torches give a good light and a no worries about flat batteries or groping around trying to find the candles.
EDIT Oh dear, too late. Well they may still have some in stock

I've been following the fate of "Woolies" - slight little personal interest - as I had a Saturday job there as a teenager (not for long - as soon as they discovered how bad I was at maths they sacked me:rolleyes: ). I do wish all the best for the future to Woolworths employees - that things work out for them. It's such a High Street fixture that it will seem odd if they go.
I wonder how many more High Street names will suffer now - I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Habitat and Marks & Spencer are fine personally - as I'd be a bit "lost" without them (though - thankfully - I won't need to buy much at all from here on in - I am okay for enough "stuff" to "see me out" - so its only if summat needs replacing that I've got to shop now).
That phrase thats a sign of middle-age - when one buys something and goes "That should see me out" .
Anyways - will be watching developments all round in the New Year in the High Street.0 -

???Twasn't you then was it Mary that requested an "invite" to my private version blog t'other day? It was just signed "anonymous" and from the phrase about wanting to "check it out" I assumed they are American????0 -
ceridwen - no -wasn't me............in the past I've always added my name somewhere in the message.
Well, I've cleared out some christmas decs that we never use any more - little painted wooden toys ones...........now sent post haste to oldest son so hopefully they will fit in his advent calendar pockets and take one out each day and pop on the tree (problem being they've just moved house and a lot of things including tree are in the shed !!)
Currently surrounded by gift bags of stuff to take to mums next week, gift bag of first wedding anniversary pressie for ex foster girl this weekend, shoe boxes waiting to be wrapped in brown paper for posting along with jiffy bag and another large envelope................jars of gold coins waiting for ribbons for christmas pressies, empty jars for current young foster lad to make little jars full of choccy coins for his sisters for christmas (quite pleased about that as he's laughed at everything else I've concocted.........now he's showing an interest !!)
So, life not simplified at the minute..............far from it !! OH had night up coughing last night (unbeknown to me who was out for the count!) so he's at home now not knowing what to do with himself and oldest lad has decided that as he's off work he'll paint the front of the house !!!! Just hoping he doesn't get sidetracked by one of his mates and I end up with a two-tone wall on the front of the house !!!!! Hardly dare look !!
But no matter..............it'll all be alright on the night, as they say..........won''t it ???? (course it will ! think positive !):rotfl:Mary
