Rosy bottom i definitely need to sort my kitchen, i have far to many cups, plates bowls etc and im fed up of the kids leaving there cups in the lounge then getting a clean cup out the cupboard! im going to leave the bare minimum in the main cupboards and store the rest away in another for when we have guests, hopefully this will keep the washing down. we did a massive clearout of our bedroom yesterday, it use to double up as my office, and although i use downstairs now, i had left the computer desk and my crafting stuff in the bedroom, so now my craft stuff is sorted and stored elsewhere (cant bare to part with much so had to find other places to stash it lol) and computer desk is in garden ready for recycle centre. need to concentrate on kids rooms next as have 3 boys in one room and getting mould problems, to much stuff/toy, and little ventilation i think, am going to get rid of alot of toys, and change rooms around, my little girl has her own room so going to do a bit of swapping around, i think if i have 2 in each room it may be a bit better ! will tackle the loft then! will leave that till kids back at school else they want to keep to much stuff! there never seems to be enough hours in the day to get everything done

Goodness, we must be simplifying things, it's four months since the last post!
. How's everyone doing?
I gave up my second job, still work as a man Friday for DH's business, but that's it work-wise. The decluttering starts and stops, but is very slowly going in the right direction!
Hope to hear from some of you before long.

I'd forgotten about b this thread too- hope you're getting more time to yourself now you've stopped the second job.
My downsizing and simplifying is progressing well- we've finally sold our house and got rid of huge mortgage, we've bought a lovely house and have half the mortgage. Need to update signature as debt is reducing more quickly now.
Life is becoming easier, stress reducing and we are enjoying the simple things in life.
Look forward on catching up on how everyone else is doing.0 -
Funnily enough was only thinking about this thread the other day when I was clearing out (simplifying?) my thread subscriptions.
I am still enjoying my retirement and the cash is ok. I still have a few savings to be made this year - going over to Freeview when my contract is up, and I think my food shopping could do with some trimming. That should be easier when the garden gets into full swing - am currently planning but holding off sowing for a few more weeks.
"Life" has got in the way a bit lately but nothing that can't be sorted (or at least lived through until it goes away one way or another), but generally I enjoy myself just pottering round the home, knitting, reading, writing (an old hobby restarted), being with family and friends. One friend has told me that I smile a lot more these days so I must be doing something right.0 -
Sounds like your enjoying your retirement dreaming.
I have had a lovely week off- spent it at home, my favourite place. I had time to bake, spring clean, and continue to work on my crochet blanket for guest room bed. I would love more time to do this but back to work again tomorrow working full time and caring for DS doesn't allow for much time at home, I can't wait to pay rest of debt and then maybe look at cutting my hours in work.
In the meantime, I will continue to simplify - just organising myself and cutting the unneccesary from our lives is giving us more time as a family.
My aim for this week is to start meal planning.
