Good afternoon! :hello: Hooray, that smiley seems to have worked - so far!

Dazi - Great news about the new job, congratulations!

Shez :hello: good luck with finding a school job. It's so nice to have you posting again!

((((HUGS)))) to all in need of them.

    Happy Birthday Mr jannyannie!:bdaycake:

Mrs_mix - Glad you are feeling better.

Welcome to glitterkitty! and sassymoneysaver  and our other new posters - I'm sure I missed a couple over the last couple of days.

Pipkin71 - Nice to see you back on here! Hope you are keeping as well as poss atm, but don't go overdoing things.

Mioliere - That sounded a really nasty headache you had! So glad you're feeling better.

Betheebee - Hooray, so pleased to hear that Ben has been able to come home and be made a fuss of, and that his speech has improved.

Catowen - Glad your DS likes his new school, and was so pleased to hear that your DD was elected a Form Captain - it will really help her, I'm sure.

charlie's mum - thanks for posting the pic, you all look lovely! I love your outfit! I didn't babysit DGD this morning as I usually do - the cold I had last week has left me with a cough - I'm not actually coughing very often, but when I do, I can't stop! I had visions of having to unceremoniously dump her on the floor in the middle of giving her her bottle, while I groped desperately for a tissue. DD had asked if I could look after her for a while tomorrow afternoon while DGS has his 2nd MMR, but I think that will be less of a problem, as DH can come with me.

A lady from the Council came today to give us a quote for having a lorry collect the things it's difficult for us to take to the tip. It's £79, which is scary, but well worth it to be rid of the stuff. It's all things which can't be recycled in our Council bins or Freecycled, and it's been outside the kitchen window for a very long time so it will be great to be free of it. There's also a big chipboard cupboard on the landing, which we bought when we were in Germany and moved into a flat with no airing cupboard. It's very heavy, but too well-glued to be dismantled. I think it's really meant to be a kitchen cupboard. When that's gone, we will replace it with a chest of drawers which DD demanded to take with her when she left home, and which is now in her way!

All for now, time to start making tonight's chicken curry. It's going to be made with the leftover chicken from Curry_queen's "Whole Chicken in a Crock" which we had last night.

    Best wishes

Charlie'smum, I love the outfit! You look great :) as does the bride, and what a venue! We get married next year, and I can only hope we can find somewhere as stunning for the photos. :)

Frugal, weren't you having probems with your venue - that was the second choice for us, and we were so glad that the first venue fell through. Sometimes these things happen for the best ;)

  • Evening all

Great day at work today - it's beginning to be a bit busier which is good.

And it means the time is passing a bit quicker.

After reading today's posts, I'm tempted to start a spider rescue service as they really don't bother me - I rescue you from the spider, at the same time rescuing the spider from you, and you pay me a large sum of money. Obviously higher rates for night time call outs and weekends and bank holidays......could it catch on????

    PO xx

We've found a place now, only the Register Office, so we're looking around for some beautiful places just to take photos :p They'll just be bride and groom shots though, as I don't think we can ask everyone to shift to a different location just for photos :)
Continually trying the Grocery Challenge. Gotta keep trying!

We got married at the Registry Office 32 years ago, and had a friend with a camera take some photos. Unfortunately they didn't come out, so I have about 4 pictures of my wedding. I wore a brown suit with orange and cream zigzags and platform shoes. Sounds lovely doesn't it :rotfl:

Frugal, you may be surprised about how many people would like to be part of the photos, if they are with you, it stops them being bored whilst waiting for you.
    Janny, happy birthday to OH
Jayward, so pleased about OH's news it must be a relief for you both.

  • Hi again all :hello:

All this talk of spiders has reminded me of something that happened at work - my then boss (and good friend) was bothered by something itching her leg. I suggested she go to the ladies and see what it was - as she stood up and walked away, a huge spider fell out of her trouser leg

Of course, as she walked back the whole department was singing, "Spiderpants, spiderpants" to the tune of Spiderman. :rotfl: :rotfl:
    [STRIKE]I didn't start it [/STRIKE]:D

    Charliesmum - looking goood

    dazi - congratulations!
Betheebee - so glad your DH is improving :j

Hugs for frugalswan and everyone that wants one

    Dazi, congratulations on the job!

jayward...glad that OH's job is safe.

Think that Sybil is on holiday so probably can't get on here...

Have emptied the old f/f so that I can defrost it before new one comes to-morrow...bit of a squeeze and some things will have to be cooked to-morrow and then frozen as they won't fit in other freezer...going to use everything that is in that one soon as some of it may be nearly as old as myself!

Hugs to all not feeling well

Can I ride shotgun? Just in case of Shelob sized ones you understand :D they don't bother me either - although Spidey Safe better not get into other forms of insect - I don't do beetles
