OS Daily Thread - Monday 15th September

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Sunday 14th September. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
I've never started the daily thread before - it's rather exciting!:rotfl:
I'm not sleeping well at all - which is why I am up at this hour drinking chamomile tea. Baby doesn't seem to reaslise that I need to sleep - it's not even arrived and already it's causing havoc. Have decamped to the spare room as want DH to get a good nights sleep as he has work tomorrow.
Lying here thinking that if I ever get to sleep tomorrow's project will be finishing off the spare room i.e. hanging the pictures I'd forgotten about etc.
breakie will be ceral, lunch a sandwich and Dinner is going to be macaroni cheese.
Hope that everyone had a good weekend - love to all and will pop back in later on x:j

Morning R.Mac (& bump) and those who follow, I see your light is now off, so hopefully baby has let you get back to sleep

Just waved Mr Twit off to darkest Yorkshire, I think he'll be returning on Thursday.
Raining here now and the cat is rather grumpy and damp. He's now parading around on spidey patrol [strike]never finds any in my house[/strike] :rolleyes2
I've got a dress fitting today ready for my friend's wedding next month, let's hope that now it's arrived, it still fits
OS for today, need to blitz the leek and potato soup I made yesterday, Miss Twit would like to take some for lunch. The pan I cooked the custard in needs help as it got burnt
There is some mixed dried fruit soaking, so that needs to be made into fruit loaves and I'd like to try an impossible pie.
Lots of paperwork planned and I need to pick up stuff for work.
Have a great day all and hugs where needed, especially to those with poorly OHs.

Morning, Rmac and Whatatwit, and all that follow. I've had a broken night's sleep, but am finally up and about getting ready for work. Two more weeks and then we're on holiday!
Tonight will be a nice easy tea (omelette, using up stuff in the fridge) which is good as the OH likes his tv on a Monday night. I need an early night tonight! Going to try and have a No Spend Day today by taking my cross stitch to work with me, but if I get tempted and lured into town, I must be good! I have been working out how much the reception is going to cost and methinks I need to save a bit faster.
Anyway, big hugs to all, and may something randomly wonderful happen for you.
Love,
Swan
Continually trying the Grocery Challenge. Gotta keep trying!0 -
Morning all :hello:
Stick some bio washing powder in the custard pan, Whatatwit, that will get the burned bit off.
Need to put SC on, braised steak with cream & garlic for tea.
Sitting here hoping I can wake up soon as I have lots to do today
Hugs for all0 -
Morning

DD's have both been up coughing all night - I'm shattered and would luv to keep them both off school for the day but I'm just getting over laryngitus (sp?) and my boss has had a few words with me about the time I had off
when she was the one who told me to go off sick
I'm going to do them some lemon and honey and a special breakfast of warm croissants and choc spread when they wake up, dose them up with cough mixture and see how they feel then.
I'm on top of the washing and am going to put a beef casserole in the slow cooker before w*rk. I need to do the packed lunches (salad for me cos have really got to start watching my diet as am back in a 16). Need to run hoover round upstairs tonight and then sort out ballet shoes for tomorrow.
Hope everyone has a great day :T

Morning everyone,
i was up bright and early this morning and i managed to do all my chores before leaving the house including emptying the dw.
The doggies and i went for a lovely peaceful walk around the local park - it seems much warmer this morning so i hope that we have a nice day.
Mr Sunnyday will be home later tonight so it will be both of us for dinner later, i was thinking of cooking something for dinner but there is still plenty of salad left and it really should be used today so i think that we will have that and i shall have a good rummage around in the freezer for something to go with it.
Only 5 more sleeps to go until our holidays :j i was going to start packing the houndies things but haven`t managed to find the time yet
I shall start making another list today to make sure i`ve left nothing off it.
OO my colleague has just brought me a lovely cuppa!
Catch up later guys - hope you all have a good day.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon

It looks like it might be another nice day today so I've hung the washing out ready & got another load in the machine.
No work for hubby today, but I'm setting off soon.
I hope the engineers arrive today I have one machine out of order & another one producing poor quality copies.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning all
It was a lovely day here yesterday and it looks like being the same today. It's my OH's birthday today, so we shall probably go out for something to eat later.
Talking of spiders, we have loads coming in at the mo. Good job I like them, I have to get rid of my neighbours if her boys aren't around. Was a bit upset the other day when little cat ate a grasshopper though.
Am waffling.
R.MAC my SIL reckoned that sleeplessness when you're pregnant is to prepare you for what's coming. Hope you get some sleep soon, have you tried putting a pillow under your bump to support it when you're lying on your side?
Big hugs to all who may need one. Off to have a shower and organise myself. Working 9-5 today as I have training this afternoon.
Have a good day all.

Good morning all. I've been MIA over the weekend - on Saturday due to a headache and, yesterday, because we decided to decorate my office. DH's next job doesn't start until Wednesday so, even though I could have done without the upheaval, when he suggested doing it I had to agree because it needs it and he's so much better at decorating than I am, especially with ceilings. So, today involves moving everything out - he did the ceiling yesterday and we covered everything with dust sheets. Anyway, it will be great when it's done and it also means that the whole room gets a good hoovering! DS2 and DIL were going to call round but they, too, decided to decorate - shame; I could have roped DS2 into helping with ours!
I hope everyone is well and that the poorly DH's are recovering well at home. I've probably missed a lot of news over the weekend.
R.Mac - the thread was beautifully started this morning! I've messed it up a few times so prefer to wait until someone else starts it!
Well, I'd better get organised - I'm dreading moving all the furniture out of here. DH says it won't take long but it always does! I won't get much chance on here for the next couple of days but he has promised we'll get the desk and the computer area back up and running asap! It's at times like these that I wish we could ignore having to cook and eat - it always interferes; I'd love just to work until the decorating is done all in one go!
Anyway, (((hugs))) to Smoky, PenPin, Jayward, ESsex-girl's Dad, Candygirl's Dad, Beth's DH and family, Joanna's DH and Sammyjig's DH.
Charlie'sMum - how did the wedding go?
Churchmouse - :hello: :hello: :hello:
Happy Birthday to Jannieannie's DH!
Talking about spiders, I was only saying to DH the other day that we don't seem to be getting any. I found one (huge, of course!) about three weeks ago and was brave enough to put a glass over it until DH came home but that's it so far. Famous last words - I bet we'll get loads now! As damage limitation I do leave a towel on the side of the bath as a spider ladder - that's the one place I can't stand seeing them! That and the kitchen sink and that gets a spider ladder too! Why don't men understand the fear? Mind you, I have a friend whose husband is terrified of them and has never actually been inside their shed!
The weather hasn't been bad - it's great being able to peg the washing out on the line. Today looks pretty good, too. Hope everyone has a good day!

Morning all
The wedding went off like a dream, and the weather was fantastic, so thanks to everyone who had their fingers crossed :A
The only problem was that I left my camcorder on a table, and it disappeared. We asked at reception, but no-one had handed it in. I was really upset as it had some footage from the church, but didn't want to make a fuss. Anyway, just as the bar was closing at 12.30, DS asked the girl behind the bar, and she had found it -needless to say, we gave her something to get a drink on us  A friend had lost an expensive bracelet, and that turned up too, so there are some honest people around.
If i can figure out how to load a piccie, I will later
Taking the cat to the vets today, she is being sedated and having her teeth sorted, she is 16, so wee hope she is going to be OK
Taking Charlie out now, so will catch you all later xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever
