forgto to mention as well as spiders I had an encounter with a frog today:eek: while lawn mowing, luckily DH was there and he actually picked it up:eek:   and popped it over the fence into nextdoors garden - I think i prefer spiders - frogs make me feel ill!_pale_
Uggghhh I am with you on that one, I hate them, I once ran in and locked myself in the house to get away form one

I don't mind spiders or frogs and will pick both up, but found a dead mouse in a bucket of water in the greenhouse, and ran up the garden as if my b*m was on fire :rotfl:You're only young once, but you can be immature forever

Congratulations Dazi!! And goods news from Jayward & OH

Good picture of you all Charlie's Mum, you look lovely.
Another one scared of spiders here, my horror story involves Fiji, a large tropical spider and a sleepless night!!:eek:
It can be a disciplinary offence at my work to have 3 periods of sickness off in any 12 month period. I very strongly disagree with it and I'm technically supposed to enforce it, so far though we've been able to persuade HR to leave it at a discussion with anyone in our office. It's awful how it makes honest people feel they have to come to work when they are ill - and how dangerous is that if they have to drive to work?!
I got my new hand-blender today!!!:j:D Very excited (yes I know what that says about me
) - looks fab, but not tried it yet:rolleyes:.
I've sliced & portioned up my ham for the freezer, can't believe how much there is for what I paid! I've learnt two things though 1) soak the ham before cooking to reduce the saltiness 2) water down the stock from cooking the ham. I had rice splodge for my tea tonight, used the ham stock and it wouldn't have been nice if it wasn't so salty! Fortunately OH was out so was spared it:D
Off to bed soon - I also had a bad night last night. So night night all....xx

Hi All, been MIA for a while....
I don't mind spiders overmuch, so north Essex for me! However, there is a HUGE one on our bedroom ceiling which doesn't seem to have moved in days - hope it doesn't drop in the night! My back is really playing up again, so can't climb up and move it currently.
Someone asked about eating goat - friends kept goats years ago which eventually found their way to the table - tastes very like lamb if my memory serves me right.
Hope to get back to school soon - being at home without being able to do much is no fun at all.
((HUGS)) to all who need one.
Charlie's Mum - fabulous picture - glad it all went so well.Resolution:

......I've not seen Wannabe Sybil or Celyn for a couple of days.....I wonder if they taken Little Bear on an outing to see the Hadron Collider (they won't get very far with what we collected)
Back later.
I think WannabeSybil is on hols in Yorkshire this week - hope she's feeling OK.
Am cream crackered at the mo...work is challenging, with me acting up for the PA who's off sick. We don't know when she will be back either (wonder if there is any more money in it for me?) so me & the other sec are making plans assuming she's off for a while
Also OH is working 6 day weeks, and his days away tend to be long ones, so trying to cram a whole weekend into one day is exhausting! Especially when there's hangovers to take into account but no time for a lie-in!
Anyway, rugby on Friday was sort of good - Sale won (just) in the 11th minute of stoppage time
.... Lytham beer festival on Saturday was good and was closely followed by scrummy italian food & wine at Nunzio's..... and we sort of lost Sunday to housework (me) & work (OH).
Charlie'smum - love the hat! And Crewe Hall looks lovely....might have to take a look at that place.....
Mummysaver - finger's crossed your work issue gets resolved soon
Candygirl - :grouphug: I know what you're going through hun, it is so hard when you can't make them better - whether it's your parents or your children.
Dazi - congrats on the new job, has it sunk in yet?!
Am off to bed now, not feeling so good. I can't really have a duvet day tomorrow but have got loads of flexi so will finish early & come home to cosy up on the sofa.
Love to all

Evening all,I've not been around much for a few days either, but have read todays posts,so congrats Dazi,& enjoy your glass of wine  .Charlies mum, glad you had a lovely day-your dress is gorgeous.
The Spidey posts have made me LOL.When my son was finishing his degree,he was doing a study of spiders, and went round collecting dead ones and freezing them until he could use a special microscope at uni to do magnified photos.Theres one tiny grey and black one that jumps apparently, some of those photos were veeery scary
DH is having a few days off and said we might go to Windermere so I can call in Lakeland.I want a shallow pan for my Remoska and they haven't sent me any catalogues either-I don't like looking online.
Anyway,goodnight - hope its spiderless

Pipkin71 - Nice to see you back on here! Hope you are keeping as well as poss atm, but don't go overdoing things.
Thankyou ivyleaf.
I've had weeks of not being able to do much, so now I'm more mobile I want to catch up on stuff, but overdoing it doesn't help. It's so frustrating though - especially when the stubborn side of me doesn't want to rest

I once had a phone call at work from DD3 to say that there was a spider in the bath and she couldn't have a shower....as I was 20 miles away I told her to use my shower and leave the poor spider alone!
I have eaten goat too and would agree with you beemuzed that it is like lamb...I think that as it gets older the taste is stronger but mine was lovely thank you.
Night all, sleep well
