Is LETS like timebank? I think we have one. I also asked at playgroup coz one of them has a birthday soon. Mum seemed quite offended as she said she also does and then giggled nervously as she said she hopes Im not going to take any business away from her. She's normally quite friendly but after that she ended the conversation and avoided me. Did't even say good bye as she usually does :(

OH NO!!! Poor you! There you are just putting your toe in the water, and someone's jumped on it!! Take no notice  I bet your cakes are way better than hers!!! :rotfl:

Making bread? Weezl's challenge.... hang on, what have missed?

Weezl's challenged herself and her OH to live on 50p a day each till Christmas... I think that's what it is... Makes amazing reading Polka I thought I was pretty good at economising till I read that thread!!!!

Homemade bread sandwiches for lunch feature highly on Weezl's daily plan!! I got very inspired, and now Team Shattered are getting Bread rolls for lunch... a lot!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Sorry to report that my friend's mum died late Monday night, she developed breathing difficulties although all the family were with her and able to say their good byes. Never an easy thing to say but my friend (and I) believe she is in a better place. She faced 9 months rehabilitation and that was if her other illness did not get to her first :(

I still have a few pages to catch up but am going to save those for later and in the meantime go and take some flowers to DH. It's times like this when I could really do with a hug from him.

Sending love to your friend.. At least her mum has left her burden behind, she was obviously a very lucky person to have so many people in her life to say goodbye to her and to miss her. I sure her passing was a huge blessing for her, and for those who loved her. As much as we do love them we never want to see them having to live like that. I hope her passing was peaceful and am so glad she was with the ones who love her.

If it were possible I'd be round in a flash to give you a hug, I know it isn't the same but I'd do it anyway... much love to you too .. xxxxxxx

embb & pigpen - hope you are feeling a bit better today - I hope it wasnt a ploy on your part pigpen to get out of going to college? as if you would do a thing like that!!!

I'm feeling carp again.. I feel like I have an elephant sitting on my chest!

As for using it to get out of college.. I send the children unless they are unable to stay awake/conscious and I reinforce that by doing the same myself. unless it is particularly contagious or nasty there is no reason to give up on daily activities.. if I can do the school run I can do anything!!.. This week!!
