Disabled spaces are a legal requirement. P&C spaces are a gimmick to attract parents to supermarkets.
i think your reading too much into it. like it or not p&c spaces are there, as are disabled spaces.
theyre there to make life easier for both parties, gimmick or not.0 -
It's simple. Disabled bays are a legal requirement. P&C spaces are not.0

and???? i dont get what your point is, why do you hate p&c spaces so much?0 -
I don't. I just don't see why people get so worked up about them and cannot manage without them. So much so that they think they are justified in using disabled bays. That's just rude.0

maybe there is a statistical correlation between p&c space availability and growing childhood obesity?Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000
current savings: 20,500 (target hit yippee!)
Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)
new target savings by Feb 2010: 30,0000 -
I can't understand why people can't get their head around this, but it is quite simple:
- Disabled spaces exist for those who are less mobile, so that they have less distance from their car to the supermarket. And also so they have more room ti get in and out of the car.
- P&C spaces exist for childrens safety, so that it is safer for the children to get to and from the supermarket. Also to give more space to be able to get children and baby seats in and out of the car. This isn't just for the convenience of the parents, but is also so that they don't get complaints about other cars being damaged by car doors.
I think the 12 year old age limit is excessive. My son is 4, and I haven't used P&C spaces for about 18 months because I don't need to.

I don't think the poster said they couldn't manage ever without a p+c space! and if the Asda staff told them to park in a disabled space then its Asda's issue - my local Asda has about 8 p+c spaces which are always full to about 30 disabled spaces which are never ever full.
I have an 11 month old wriggler and yes it would be nice to park a little closer for ease and safety, but usually we have to settle with about 1/2 a mile away at the back and then try not to get run over on the way there and back because there are no paths and everyone dives into spaces like maniacs and don't appear to be able to look before turning!0 -
Disabled spaces are for people with disabilities. P&C spaces are for parents with children in car seats. These are pretty basic standard rules, how can anyone be confused by such basic principles.
They are not there, for the convenience of everyone else, (there is no such thing as a "bad weather" parking bay, or "because its nearer" parking bay.
The extra space allocated for these bays are for wheelchair's and child seats. (quite obviously). NOT because "my cars bigger" or because "it's raining".
Its people who use them simply because "they are there", or having trouble being able to get their "12yr old" out of a car and into the supermarket, that makes peoples blood boil.
It's simple, if you don't know "why" they are labelled "disabled" or "P&C" spaces, then get the bus.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

This is just what it says on the boards in a couple of supermarkets near me. Perhaps 12 year olds in our area have problems that don't occur in other areas of the countryI let my mind wander and it never came back!0
