P&C, spaces don't me laugh. I'll use them whether I've got the kids with me or not. Parents don't NEED them as some of you seem to think, they are a gimmick.

If you're kids are liable to opening the door and maybe hitting someone elses car, then teach them not to do it !

Diasbled people however DO need them, now that's different and I wouldn't dream of using one of those. Double standards you might say !

Make the regular spaces wide enough so some oik in their old banger isn't going to open their door and hit my car causing damage and I'll stop using the P&C spaces. It has nothing to do with being lazy or wanting a shorter walk to the store. I'd still use them if they were the furthest spaces away.

    Morals my a*se !!!!

So what about the parents that can't actually get the baby seat out of the car without being able to open it wide enough??

So what about excessively obese people who because of their size can't get out of the car easily without being able to open it wide enough ??

Shall we have spaces for them too ?
  • When my kids were young we didnt have P + C spaces so why are they needed now? Are some parents so bad that they cannot control a child?

I'm sure people wouldn't complain if they also used the P&C places.

    Fight

It's not to do with controling children. It's about having the space to take car seats in and out of the car, or having room for a pram.

It just shows that there is more common sense these days.

Such a nice country we now live in, everyone out for themselves and looking after number 1 without a thought for anyone else.

I note you didn't answer hollydays, but then you don't need to, it's obvious by your disregard for the explanatory posts that you are indeed male (no offence to the many considerate men around).

I'll say this slowly so you understand:- in order to get a child seat or folded pushchair out of a car, you need to be able to open the doors wide and, so that other "oiks in their old bangers" don't bang into your car, the spaces are made wider.

Do you suppose that Asda, Morrisons et al have not researched this? They would get more cars into the car park by making all the spaces smaller, so they're not leaving wide P&C spaces from the goodness of their hearts.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

If you want wider spaces then write to the stores owners and tell them, not us.

Its selfish idiots like you that spoil it for the rest of us, I had to go shopping with my injured son, all the P&C spaces were taken. So to get him in as trolley we had to walk the length of the car park. We could have parked in a disabled bay, but we have more respect than that.

The supermarkets make the spaces for parents and children bigger because they NEED them.

If you are so worried about your pride and joy motor being scratched/dented then leave it at home.

Do you ever take your car out? City centre car parks are the same size as supermarket ones, do you use those? How big are the spaces in your work car park, are they bigger?

You say its not a moral issue, then why do you do it?

Your actions are selfish to the extreme.

My heart bleeds for you !!

Personal insults, is that the best you can do ! Just goes to show the mentality of people here !! Can't come up with constructive comments, just insults :rotfl:

Leave your kids at home !!

    Assume what you like !!

NO you DON'T NEED a wide space to get a seat out of a car and put the pushchair in the boot. I've managed perfectly well, so can you !!!
