Parking ticket in Asda car park - Is this legal, can they take me to court?

And what's so morally right about someone coming along with a clamp and refusing to remove it until such time as the vehicle owner pays an extortionate amount of money to have it removed, without any trial or tribunal to establish that he is guilty of nothing more than trespass, itself only a tort (and not a crime) the only legal remedy to which is liquidated damages equivalent to the actual loss incurred by the landowner as a result of the trespass?
As I understand it, many of these companies are neither legally or morally, in the right. However, this thread is about parking in Asda, using the disabled bays when the OP (and apparently many others) is perfectly able but the weather is inclement - whichever way you choose to look at it, it's morally wrong.
Any normal human being with a social conscience ought to be ashamed to pretend to be disabled when they are perfectly healthy.
If you were hungry (and I don't mean on the point of starvation), would you think it ok to take food from the plate of a starving person?
Those of us who are healthy and not encumbered in any way ought to be thankful for it and be willing to make this (very) small sacrifice for others who are not so lucky!I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
I agree, consultant31.
I would go even further and say that, bearing in mind disabled bays are in such demand in supermarket car parks, a blue badge holder should consider parking elsewhere (or asking the driver to park elsewhere) if they don't really need to use a disabled bay on that occasion, and leave the space empty for someone who DOES need it.
Just because you are entitled to use the space doesn't mean you should if you don't need to.
My gran has a blue badge, and we have used it on occasions when she'd otherwise be subjected to a long walk, but we've never used it at the supermarket, because she can get out of the car in a normal-sized space, and manage to get into the shop without problem.
How often do you see drivers sitting in their cars in disabled bays at the supermarket? Is the driver disabled? If so, and they're not getting out, then they could park anywhere.0 -

You don't think its possible that some posters are repeating the same comments, because they know no-one is going to remember what was said 3 years ago?0 -

They might just be forgetful and forgot what they originally wrote.
Can you imagine what a forum for memory loss sufferers must be like!0
