More than 3 hours in one supermarket??????????? if they dont put a time limit, people will park all day to commute, or to go shopping at other shops.

If you owned a business with a car park, would it not be your right to put any conditions for parking on lt? So Pubs that put "Customers only" are wrong, they should allow anyone to park their as long as they like????

So how long were you allowed to park, and how long did you actually park?
My local ASDA allows 3 Hours, who on earth would need longer. You broke the Rule FULL STOP Pa:oy up and stop whinging

Perhaps there ought to be two threads for every topic. One for useful information about the subject in question. Personal experiences, information about what options are available, what actually happens etc and another thread for inane low drivel chat board moralising.

Unfortunately, people looking for information have to wade through a load of drivel to find useful information. It isn't just this thread but everywhere and usually the same people over and over again.

Want to rent a property out and looking for advice? One post will have useful advice but ten will be from half wits telling you how wicked owning property is during a housing shortage...yawn.

As Martin said, it is about screwing them before they screw you. Taking advantage of loopholes and boxing clever to save money - legally. Some people are fine using this site to gain an advantage using a loophole and/or moneysaving scheme regardless of the effect on the business (or other people) on the receiving end but when it is something were they feel they have an interest and could lose out, the best nimby like instincts come out in the form of pompous moralising.

The thing to remember is that any one of us could be in a wheel chair a year from now, and be struggling to find a place to park where there is room to get out of the car, and into the wheel chair. I'm sure some people would change their opinion then, and would join the rest of us in slating people who abuse the system.

Youve pretty muched answered the question, as long as they are customers using the car park, it shouldnt be a problem, however it is upto the owner or leaseholder of the land to put whatever conditions they want on it. As with any supermarket, the longer a customer spends shopping with them, the more money that is potentially being spent.

Should a pub limit drivers to park for 3 hours?, I guess that would depend on wether or not the driver is drinking alcohol, if its not listed as "designated drivers only", there should be a limit of just picking up and dropping off. But thats a completely different subject.

The fact is, there ARE poeple out there who exceed 3 hours shopping in a supermarket, if they are authentically shopping at that particular store, it shouldnt really matter how long they take to shop. Likewise if the intention of the driver is to merely use the car park as a coinvenient parking space, they deserve all thats coming to them.

I would be just a tad upset should someone decide to park their car in my driveway, unless of course they are visitors, making it less likely that I would give a time limit on their car, without putting a limit on their stay.

But most people notice that the majority of those using disabled spaces are not in a wheelchair and have a hidden disability. It seems from the blue badge/disabled parking spaces logo that it was originally aimed at those in a wheelchair but it's been expanded to accommodate other disabilities. The system is open to abuse (like all systems) and it needs an overhaul. They need to look at what service they are trying to provide disabled persons with. Is it wider spaces, is it spaces close to the door, is it spaces near toilets or disabled accesses, is it spaces with a braille trail to shops (no jokes about blind drivers as obviously blue badge holders can be passengers:p ). Ideally I think there should be separate wheelchair only spaces as they need the extra wide spaces while many others do not.

Again not just wheelchair users need wide spaces. Someone who uses sticks/crutches/walking frame may need their door open fully so they can get their legs out and up on their sticks.

  • What about fat people who can't squeeze between cars surely they need their own spaces which thin people should be banned from.
