    Hey,

Work was fine today, but really took all my energy away from me. I tried to have a lil sleep earlier but its too hot. So im going to stay in tonight and get an early night so ive got plenty of energy for walking about 2moz.

Im going Colchester zoo hayley its only a 20 min drive down the a12 for me, plus we have just found a 2 for 1 voucher so even better! Just hope the weather is as nice as its been today.:D

Speaking of animals did anyone see that pic on the news and in the papers of the squrriel that stood infront of the camera when a couple were taking there picture on holiday?:rotfl:it was soooo cute! heres a linky:http://www.examiner.com/x-1028-Pet-News-Examiner~y2009m8d13-Squirrel-pops-up-in-photo-of-couple-at-Banff-National-Park-and-becomes-latest-Internet-sensation

Im not sure if its a setup as they have zoomed the camera onto the squirrel and they are blurry behind. So they have focused on it, But still made me laugh!

My voucher collection isnt very big as ive only just started collecting them again ive got £30 Next, £10 Argos and £28 Luncheon vouchers.

It still hasnt arrived yet, we didnt get any post at all. Im not sure if the posties are still on strike around here or what but i hope they havent stolen my voucher! :(

    Hi

God i havent posted in ages! Thanks for the birthday messages!

I was so tired with work while the V festival was on! They have finally all gone now and were having a major tidy up at work from the trail of mess they left behind!

On the good side i got plenty of overtime from working the weekends and more hours in the afternoons.:D

Ive have just got back from the dreaded dentist, part of my filling had fallen out and the tooth really smelt! I had to walk around for 2 weeks with a smelly tooth before they could fit me in. The tooth needed ALOT of work they may aswell of just pulled it out as they have now filled near enough half of the tooth! And of course the side they had to fill is the visible side when i smile and the filling isnt white but silver. This set me back £45.

Also i have smashed the front splitter on my car, it was already cracked but the other day i went over a rather large speed hump and broke it completly! I always go very slow over humps as my car has been lowered but this was just a extra tall hump! Its hanging on still just ( its the plastic part at bottom of bumper btw) So i need a new one of this and it a Renualt part only so is going to cost me lots, i think around £70 i will be finding out the actual price 2moz. I have been around all the scrap yards but none of them have my type of car at them, and people breaking my cars on ebay will only sell me the whole bumper not just the splitter.

Then i think my front discs might be worped, so if i need new ones it advised to change the pads too. So i will be looking at about £80 for parts on those with a discount.
Also i have a slow puncuture and have noticed the tyre wall is cracked where the car just used to sit so would fail the MOT. My car has special made tyres too, i could just put some budgets on but im not going to as budgets dont last me long on previous cars so the ones i need cost £120 each!!! But £90 with a discount from a friend.

Then my car will be 4 years old in november so will be due its cambelt chnage which renault have quoted me £775!!! Or £575 if i book by the end of the week. As the engine is so crammed into a small car they have to remove engine to fit etc and will need the car 2 days! But there is a renault specailist down the road that people on my owners forum say s very good and much cheaper than that. So i will probably take it to him. I did know this when i bought the car though that it was due and would be expenisve thats how i managed to get £600 off the price he was asking for the car!
Then theres the MOT also due in november.

So ive got an expenisive time ahead of me. but at least it will all be OK for another 4 years...well cambelt wise anyway. Good job i have £900 that ive saved up.

But im doing it all MSE style as:

Discs & pads - buying from a mate that works for car part place so can get me discount. Either him or my OH will fit them for me.
Tyres - Another mate also can get me a discount price
MOT - Again a friend can get me a good discount
Cambelt - Renualt specailist instead of main dealer
Splitter - Use my 10% discount owners card on parts at Renault

  • Hi Maria,

Yikes, that is a lot of expensive coming up, but its great that you are doing it the MSE way chick.

Why is it when you get saving something always comes up and you have to spend your savings?

Any luck with the property hunt? or have you decided to stay at home for a little bit longer until that perfect property becomes available.

I hope you're well anyways hun,
