Morning all,
Blue sky here at the moment, got some washing I put on last night to hang out in a bit but not going downstairs or rattling around yet as my little sis (22) is asleep on my sofa, having to come to stay for the weekend (to babysit). My little niece (3) ended up sharing with me, but now she's gone to play in youngest DD's room
Tonight I am going to the dogs....!!! Never been before but it's supposed to be a good night out, and includes dinner. It's for my mate's birthday & her mum is treating us all, so that is a very MS night out for me!!! And my DD's are going out for a meal with their father. Who informs me yesterday he may be leaving new wife for the second time. AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH..... (It's the endless dithering & subjecting us to constant self-pity about it all for weeks at a time that drives me mad). *goes off to plaster serene smile onto face*
Think I will make some banana bread today, and perhaps another batch of Rocky Road. Can't see much else getting done with a houseful & a birthday tomorrow.
Beth, hope your Ben is ok, thinking of you both. Also to Sammyjig & Joannasmum, hope your OH's are both on the mend now.
Aussie, that top is lovely, I really like the style of it, what pattern is it??
N9eav, glad you had a good day, shame about bumping the car. Eat lots of chocolate cake to make up for it!!
Hester, I don't know how you do it with a constant stream of visitors/lodgers... you must be very patient...I would start twitching after a couple of nights max....
Jannyannie, your son could be feeling unsettled about the change & showing it by biting, etc. Difficult balance between letting kids know that is unacceptable while trying to be supportive & helping them settle... hopefully it won't take too long.
WMF, good luck having the outlaws there....... hope the hoovering has encouraged everybody to get up now, lol!!!!
SOMO1, no I don't think you'll be the only one without books on the first day!! That's good news about the school trip too - my youngest DD will be wanting to do the residential one to Spain next June, but at least it can be paid for over most of the school year so not quite so bad.
((((((((((((hugs))))))))))) to all those needing them, of whom there are lots at the moment.Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)

Morning, all. I'm feeling a bit blurry today as the OH woke up at 5:30am unable to sleep any more after the coffee he had last night. I can never sleep when I'm woken suddenly ... mini-grr! Well, at least I get a chance to get caught up on my posting. This is perhaps the first time in ages I've had time to sit and think! Last weekend was particularly stressful (long story, and I never want to be in that situation ever again
) and hopefully it won't be too bad this weekend. We're going to help with some friends' house renovations, have to pop into town to deliver a parcel and the OH found a voucher in his wallet, and he asked me if I wanted to go out to dinner tonight.
Something to smile about there.
Going to have a batch cooking session either today or tomorrow, making burgers (using my lovely burger press) and meatballs for the freezer so there are lovely tasty things to have later this month. I might do some baking, but as they OH (and myself, I ruefully admit) are feeling slightly heavy for my culinary experiments so I'll leave off that for today. Mind you, I feel like making some breakfast bars, so we'll see.
Beyond that, I think there'll be more reading and cross stitch done today. I know it'll take me years to get my current project finished, but I want to get it done!Continually trying the Grocery Challenge. Gotta keep trying!0 -
Morning Everyone
DH is home, we still have no idea why he had the pain but is being refered locally.
Today I'm taking dd to ballet for the first time. She is so excited shes been up since 6am. Shes not happy about wearing just a leotard and want to wear a tutu.
Plans for the rest of the day is to sort out the freezers as they are a total mess.
Have a good day everyoneSorting my life out one day at a time0 -
Morning :hello:
Hope the smilies come out right, they're not showing for me so I'm guessing and hoping lol.
Mrs_mix, I forgot your birthday  Sorry bout that - have some cake :bdaycake:
We picked 2lb of blackerries yesterday, was surprised to find them as most are rotting :rolleyes2
I haven't been over to our 'allotment' next door for a few days, it's growing loads, shame most of it is weeds :rolleyes2
Picked loads of apples from FIL's garden yesterday, and we found a huge cage thing (in pieces) behind his shed. It's about 10ft x 5ft, 5ft tall and has a door. Is that big enough for 3 chickens? The chicken shed would go outside of the run, with a hole cut into it so they can wander in and out as they please. We'd have make some sort of roof or something because the top is open.
I'm just waiting for mr troo to get out of the bathroom so I can have a shower. Then I can make a start on the huge amount of housework that needs doing.I am a coffee bean0 -

I'm also going to have a look through some of my huge collection of cookery books to see if I can find some different things to go in lunch boxes next week as ds2 goes back to college and he has one really long day and will need extra snacks to keep him going
I also plan to clean a cupboard out today in the kitchen to see whats in there as I now have no clue but I suspect there will be quite a few things I don't need to buy for a while:o

Good morning everyone,
Sorry i havnt been around for so long, i havnt had chance to read or post, so i hope i havnt missed anything important, and that everyone is happy and well!!!!
:hello: Taplady, mrs mix, Shez, Ivyleaf and CM
Life has been busy, im not earning any extra money, but i do have a new baby here (shes a replacement to one who left in July). She is lovely, but obviously takes up a lot of my time that i used to spend on here - not that is a bad thing (in some ways!)
Since i last posted, DS has started High School, and is loving it! He (at the moment) is working hard, doing his homework as soon as he gets in from school and has already received an acreditation in French for some excellent work, so very proud here, and so hoping that he keeps it up, especially after the disappointment last term with his school report and SAT marks. I think a few of you on here said the change of school might help him, and fingers crossed, it looks like it is at the moment.
Also very proud of DD, shes now in year 6, and each of the teams have a girl and boy team captain, voted for by all the teams juniors. Well DD was voted the girl team captain, and we are all really thrilled. This will do her confidence the world of good, especially after all her dad put her through this summer.
Nothing has really happened to me, i seem to be working all the time, and when i get a few spare minutes, enter competitions - not won anything big for a while, but hopefully something lovely will be just around the corner!
Today, DS is meant to be playing football, the day is looking sunny at the moment, but with all the rain we have been having, i wouldnt be surprised if it is called off. After football, im taking DS and 2 of his friends to watch the mighty Plymouth :rotfl: play Norwich, followed by some sort of junk food as its his birthday next week. DD is going to my friends house as she will prefer that - i will collect her afterwards, then the boys are having a sleepover and DD and i will retire upstairs with some snacks to watch X Factor and try not to imagine what the boys are up to downstairs! I did this last year, and the boys were still awake at 4/5 o clock, so ive already warned them that there will be none of that this year, but who knows. Doing it this week as Plymouth are away next week, and there is nothing at the Cinema that DS wants to see, but it gets it over and done with, and next Saturday on his actual birthday, we can spend the day together doing nice things!
Right, ive waffled on long enough, ((HUGS)) and :hello: to everyone
Oh, nearly forgot - its the last night of the proms tonight (i think) so anyone up for some Rzl spotting???
Have a lovely day everyone,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Just seen that i missed mrs mix's birthday yesterday, hope you had a wonderfull day xx0 -
Morning all
Well, the day of the wedding is finally here, and the sun is shining :j I just hope it stays like this. DH saw a weather forecast yesterday which said the sun would shine this morning, and rain would be here by 1.00 - the wedding is at 1.30
Neav, DH also reversed into something this week - a parked car. He left his details under the windscreen wiper, and later that day the guys insurance company phoned to check he had left the note, and thanked him for his honesty. They guy whose car he hit also phoned to say thank you - as there were no witnesses, he could have just driven off, but couldn't have it on his conscience.
Off to check the weather forecast again, and have some breakfast. Please all keep your fingers crossed that the rain holds off xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever

Morning all
Didn't manage to get on here after going to see DH at hosp, I didn't get home untill 10pm and was exhausted, pysically and mentally.
GOOD NEWS, I hope to bring him home today, they wouldn't let him out y/day as more tests were done, I really can't praise the staff enough for the way he was cared for. Angels every-one of them. I have to phone after Consultants rounds at 10am to see when I can collect him.
I wont bore you will med details but have to keep watch to the first 72hrs he is home. I must by shares in J&Johnson as I intend to buy 1 tonne of cottonwool.
He must not drive for a month and has to have more tests done next week, main arteries in his neck x-rayed again and an echo scan on his heart.
Have loads to do for him coming home, eg make sure there are no bumps in the roads, clear any clouds in the sky, mop up any rain, oh the list goes on.
Thank you all again for your support, oh I checked my PM's and tried to reply but couldn't because my folder was full, went to empty it but emptyed my in box instead. So if you haven't had a reply that's the reason why. I always reply to PM's so please don't think I have ignored you.
JOANNASMUM, So so glad you have your DH home.
