Well I ordered early Saturday. Had the confirmation email and the money taken from my account within hours. Arranged earliest delivery - which was supposed to be today. Waited for delivery all day. ONLY found out that they had cancelled the order when I checked my asda account on line. Bad enough not getting what I had paid for but really furious that they didn't even bother to let me know they had cancelled ! Have emailed to complain and ask for an explanation but not looking hopeful after what others have said on here. Wouldn't use them again.
  • Here's a copy of my e mail to them: not suggesting that anyone copies it, as I agree that individually drafted responses may get further, but just summarising points:

I ordered this on 14th September, payment was taken immediately and I received confirmation of order and delivery details.

Yesterday I received an email cancelling my "attempted" order, and claiming that my money had been refunded.

Firstly, this was not an attempted order, but a confirmed order, the acceptance of payment for which forms a legally binding contract. Secondly, the money has been taken from me and to date has not been refunded. Thirdly, the clause 8 in your terms & conditions to which you refer covers misprices. This was not a misprice, but a voucher code which was accepted in part payment for the order which you now claim was invalid. Lastly, I am aware that you have fulfilled other similar orders.

I must insist that you fulfil this order, which was accepted by you and forms a legally binding contract, or I will have no choice but to contact the trading standards office.

Please keep us all updated with any responses, have a feeling we may be able to get somewhere with this one!
  • have had mine refunded today, no tv for my boy sob
  • hmmmm, not got it. Was cancelled due to invalid code

I ordered Friday the first available delivery date was Tuesday i picked Tuesday and was suppose to be delivered today, they cancelled my order yesterday. I cannot understand why the some orders have been cancelled and others have not. I know one thing i will never set foot in an asda ever again. Terrible service and customer service staff who obviously lie:mad:

This website is full of people who spotted a bargain, went for it and got the deal. It is also full of people who spotted a bargain, went for it and got no deal. It is the name of the game.

You can't take it out on the store and you cannot take it out on the staff. If they spot the error then you get nothing, if they do not then you win. As a newbie you will not realise this yet but you keep trying until you win.

With all online deals the contract is not made until they despatch the goods so you will find that many companies will not honour "deals" found on their websites.

You will, in time, also notice that some people will phone and check the price, tipping off the company that they have an error on their website and everyone loses. Some orders which are already in the system get through but the jig is up for veryone else.

Bite your lip and keep looking at this site, you'll get your bargains when some others don't. I have had loads of orders cancelled but it's just like the lottery, you have to be in it to win it.

    9 Acceptance of Order

Your acceptance of these Product Terms by clicking on the 'Accept' button represents an offer to buy from Us and is not binding until accepted by Us either by sending You an e-mail which is received by You explicitly stating this, or by Our dispatching the Goods to You, which ever occurs first.
Please note that for Mobile Phones the order is accepted only when the service provider confirms their acceptance for the service contract for the mobile phone and that these service contract terms are subject to a minimum term of 12 months.
Receipt of an order via the Website by Us does not constitute acceptance of an order. We reserve the right to refuse Your offer for any reason. At any point up until acceptance in accordance with the first paragraph of this section 9, We may decline to supply the Goods to You without giving any reason.

Some Glitches you win, some you lose, thats what this site is about, not worth getting upset about. Thats just my opinion. :o

Agree with the posts above re: not getting upset (and I am not overly) but there does become a time when if they say they have done the full contract law bit (invitation to treat - i.e. website offer) (offer - me to them) then acceptance (them to me - with their confirmation email, delivery date, take my money and tracking details) and then as I am stood at home waiting for the delivery, then they bother to cancel, on the day of delivery, when they had 2 or 3 days to cancel beforehand should they have wished. If the boot was on the other foot (e.g. I had ordered food from Adsa, had it accepted and got a delivery date, do you really think they would honour my "change of mind" that once it was delivered or within hours of delivery that I didn't want it anymore ?) Although I am not well up on the legalistics of the situation, surely those that have had an email after or during their delivery date have some right of complaint ? I took a day off today as citylink are rubbish, and if you are not in they ship the goods to somewhere nearly 30 miles from me.

That said I quite enjoyed my day off.

I wasn't aware that there was any reason for it to be cancelled

As far as I knew the voucher was in date and I ordered the tele on the day it was on offer.
If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in :D
