There is a thread from April where the same problems happened on a misprice of a computer.
This is the MSE thread. I'm still trying to find the corresponding HUKD thread.
Interestingly in the MSE thread it mentions that Asda Electricals, Millers and QED are all the same website (run by QED/Millers) with different skins.0 -
Hi
I sent an email last night to ASDA but have now added to it stating that I do not see how they can cancel some orders but honour others. I'd already mentioned that I would be going to Trading Standards if I don't receive a suitable legal explanation. Any other ideas?

Hi everyone. I have been watching this tread since I ordered one on Saturday. I also ordered another one (once I had secured the funds) on Sunday. Monday evening at 7.11pm I received the dreaded cancellation email for the one I bought on Saturday. I was straight on the phone to the CS and the chap I spoke to had no idea on what I was talking about and said I would receive a call in the morning from a manager.
I was surprised at 9.20 this morning when the call came. I explained everything to them which had been mentioned on this tread (thanks to everyone who has posted) about the confirmation email, the binding part, etc and was told that their legal dept said they could all be cancelled as is was a mis price. I then explained that it wasn't a mis price and I used one of their codes so they should honour the deal as it wasn't my fault they had '2' deals on one item. She agreed that it was their fault the code was not ended soon enough, apologised and said there was nothing more she could do. So I asked to speak to her boss. It is now going further and they are going to ring back later this afternoon to let me know if they are still going to honour my order.
The tv I ordered on Sunday has not been cancelled and is on a delivery van on it's way to me - not received it yet though!!
I will be in on the TS thing if someone lets us know what to do next.0 -
I've just logged into my online banking. Although the money for my order had been taken from my available balance, it wasn't showing as a debit as such before now (I think it's called ring-fencing or something). Got cancellation email last night, an hour before the citilink tracking number was due to appear according to the confirmation email, looking at my statement for the last week, the money was debitted yesterday and is showing as a transaction to asda.com.
Hmmmm, wrote them a really stroppy email last night about breach of contract and now have a bank statement confirming the money being removed from my account (a 'ring-fenced' amount is untraceable until it's actually debitted so would have struggled to prove that one).
Anyway - no reply from Asda yet.
ETA - I have seen many cases along these lines over the years on MSE and in 99.99% of cases nothing comes of them and the items never arrive. I actually think it's 100%, but put less in case anyone finds one where people have been successful. On this basis I have never sent a stroppy email before as I always thought it a waste of time, but I had a really bad day yesterday and achieved a little satisfaction from firing a scathing email to Asda!"I married beneath me, all women do." - Nancy Astor 1879-1964

My cancellation email states that it was cancelled due to the voucher code being out-of-date so how come people who have ordered later have been able to use it??If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in0

Hi, My cancellation email says this :- This item was purchased using an invalid voucher code. In accordance with
Clause 8 (Product Prices) of our terms and conditions
we have cancelled your order. If you have received an order confirmation email, then we
have refunded your card. If you did not receive this email, then no payment was taken from your card.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused, and would stress that the selling price
of this product was market-beating without the application of the out-of-date voucher code.
They have still taken the monies from my account so I have just sent a stroppy email to them! I don't suppose we will hear from them but this has made me very very mad!!!A little thanks now and again would be nice.;)0 -
I have just received my tv which I ordered on Sunday. Still no phone call as to whether I will recieve the one which I ordered on Saturday.
I forgot to mention that I explained the cancellation email was wrong also as I had completed by order and not just 'attempted to place order'. This was something to which she couldn't explain.
I also told them about my Sunday's order and was told that all managers had spent yesterday going though the orders and cancelling all the ones that had used the code - hence the reason some emails were received after 7pm.
I will let you know if and when I get the phone call and what the outcome is.0 -
