I'm glad you got it sorted, and you got a silly pointless argument thrown in too.

Was a good discussion though and didnt turn into too much of a mud throwing exercise :beer:

Do they start off with a Ghia X and remove features until they're left with a Mondeo LX, then try to sell you the parts to turn it into a Ghia X again?

Yep. You'll find most of the wiring loom there for most of the options of the Ghia X in an LX as well as the predrilled holes for mounting stuff such as foglamps. You can buy a Zetec and get the heated windscreen off the Ghia as an upgrade option and as shadowdragon said, there's blanking plates where the switches should be.

Do try to keep up Marty, there's a good chap.

well thanks for all your help anyway...I have made a recovery usb 4gb pen drive from acer of all my drivers and utilities...I am alittle annoyed with laptopsdirects...as it plainly says on the front that I have 2 x 120gb hard drives...yet it's 1 120gb hdd partitioned in two to make it look like 2 hdd's...but I did get alittle over £200 off the price instead of me paying £799...I only paid £523.73 + £59.95 for an extra 3 yrs warranty...so I cannot really complain just that when your used to doing recovery disc's it's not tht simple...anyway thankyou again...

Good grief, I thought we were done.

They do not start off with a Ghia and take all the features out and then try and sell them back to you. So all LXs start out life as Ghias? You're just being silly now.

And anyhow, cars aren't operating systems. You can't type a code into an LX and make it into a Ghia.

Mine aren't there either. There are a few threads about it, but I'm not sure what's going on.
