I phoned NTL/Virgin last night trying to secure a deal but as I was only interested in SKY one the girl said she couldn't offer me anything as they couldn't give me SKY one - very unhelpful. Phoned Sky this morning - what a different attitude - falling over themselves to secure a deal - £10 off for joining online (although I did it over the phone) - £15/month for 2 sets of channels and in theory broadband free (2MB) - can't take up the latter as have no BT line and would have to change email address to .sky.com. Phoned NTL and cancelled TV - switched to 2 for £20 Broadband/phone. So total package increased from £30 to £35 - would go down to £26 if I switched to SKY broadband - so a good result and I've got Sky One back. Best thing is they're installing it next wed - in time for the special catchup weekend next week - so I can see the Lost/24/Nip Tuck episodes I've missed....plus my hubbie now gets the Discovery channels so we're all happy!
    stay lucky!
    Steve.

I just want to check if I got a good deal with VM.

    I was offered:
    XL TV
    2MB Broadband
    V+
    Extra box upstairs
    All the sports and movies

for £46 a month for 12 months. What do you guys think?

If you take V+ for, say, 12 months and then decide you no longer want it, can you downgrade but still use the same box?

We used to have NTL but have recently moved where only Sky is available. So we will be new customers, are there any half price deals available? Thanks.

Yes I have read this thread.

We do not have freesat or a Sky box as we had NTL before. I tried the number on page 11 (thanks Bluey) but have had no luck. I'm just asking if anyone has had any offers through for new customers - who don't have a sky box or anything. Thanks.

I called Virgin last night threatening to cancel. Ended up getting all their channels for life and a £20 a month discount. I think it all depends on who answers the phone to the deals you are offered.
Smoke me a kipper. I'll be back for breakfast!!!
