What does family pack mean, is that 2 Mix, Kids + Variety?
And are the offers you mention valid for reinstatements, ie before or after the actual date of cancellation; or are different ones available for reinstatement?
Sorry, I should have called it the "6 mix" as it is now called, all 6 mixes rather than just 2 (or 4) - ie, usually £37 per month, but £18.50 for 5 months with the offer.
Reinstate offers differ again, depending on whether you're calling re-instates, or they're calling you with outbound offers. These offers are usually at least as good as the cancellation offers, and the outbound reinstate deals (where they phone you) are usually better.
If you want to call to reinstate, you'll have to wait til after the actual date of cancellation to qualify for these. If you're serving out your cancellation notice, you may receive a call with offers before then.0 -
Anyone been able to cut a deal with HomeChoice.
I am currently using Freeview and Aol==> £37. But would move to TalkTalk.
Would like to move the HomeChoice BigPack Deal with 2mb + Anytime calls which comes to £37. For the extra Tv channels + the 7 day playback on main TV channels. They also offer wireless which I believe TalkTalk don't.
I was thinking of saying that it is only worth me not taking FreeView+TalkTalk if they offer me the package for £25 as all I want is the extra channels that this package brings.“…the ‘insatiability doctrine – we spend money we don’t have, on things we don’t need, to make impressions that don’t last, on people we don’t care about.” Professor Tim Jackson

Hi, thanks for all the advice, just decided to bite the bullet and see what SKY would offer me. After getting through to cancellations I was offered 3 months at half price for the full package so works out at £21.50 a month. I'll go and try it again in 3 months i think. Do they do back to back deals if you keep threatening to cancel?:T :T0

monstermind wrote:Hi, you can certainly call back to cancel, stating that you're not prepared to stay unless you can have new replacement equipment rather than a service call. This offer is still available.

Monstermind, you're a good un !
They're fitting me a new box for nothing, with 12 months guarantee
Great result and thanks for your very informative post.

Any suggestions for me. We have sky+ sports and multiroom. Would be happy to drop multiroom.
Tried phoning but contract is in my husband's name and they won't deal with me. He's too busy/not bothered in phoning up.
Any suggestions to get round this. Could threaten to cancel the direct debit but that might just get me in a mess.
Could we write and cancel and then phone to reinstate?0 -
Telewest users who pay £5.50 .....see below
I've been with Telewest for just over a year. At the time I took out my contract I requested the cheapest TV service which was £5.50 a month.
But having now visited their website recently, I've discovered that they are now offering a free TV package, which gives me more or less the same channels as I originally received for £5.50 a month.
Of course I was never actively informed by them about this new Free TV package, so I've continued, unwittingly to pay the £5.50 (and they give you a few extra channels, not worth it in my opinion), until I spotted that the new free package was available.
So now I've switched to their "Free TV" package (although they did try to convince me not to switch of course).0 -
