Surely if you have an invoice that said you pay £2.10 or whatever, then that is what they charge you, how can they take more money??0

is that usd because if so that doesnt quite add up $10.95 = £6.17 australia dollars =£ 5.00 new zealand 4.08 closest is the euro at 8.70
No idea! - just quoting what it says on the website - personally I reckon the charge for additional books will be 8.99
Hard to say if the company have just been overwhelmed by the response to their 1p book offer or whether this was a bit of a con to sell the books as many people would have ordered more than one book:eek:0 -
I ordered 2 books with free postage code and got a confirmation invoice immediatly for 2p
After reading these threads I have emailed them to cancel telling them that the great offer designed to introduce people to their website is nothing but a scam.
If it really is 1 per customer they should
A...... be clear when ordering
B...... not allow you to checkout without CLEARLY saying additional ones
are 8.99
C..... not send you a confirmation invoice that is incorrect
D...... not debit your card for more than your invoice.
Rant over:mad:
When I ordered, the 1 per customer was only on the Birthday book, not the xmas one. I remember because I tried to order one but the checkout symbol was not there so I could not.0 -
Have ordered 1 book and teddy clock, jumped straight in though as usual  so no free postage for me but still a bargain! Thanks OP for posting.
Helen xlove my little man he is amazing :j0 -
The transaction comes under the distance selling regulations which states that a written confirmation of your order clearly showing the price and postage costs must be issued. If in the checkout and the email the price says 1p then it should be completely unlawful to charge more (I'm not a lawyer). I think they could try to wriggle out of honouring the price and offer to complete the contract at a new price but certainly not just go ahead and charge 899 times more than their stated confirmation.0

I guess I'm not a very choosy person because I for one am quite grateful for this offer. 1p for a personalied book! Even if you ordered additional books and do not want to be charged full price for them you have the option of cancelling so no harm done really.0

From what i can see they made a mistake on the website soon as they realised, they added the terms of 1 book at 1p per customer and £8.99 per extra book. They are trying to con the people who ordered yesterday as the terms were not stated on the website last night. I have emailed to cancel my order but have had no reply as of yet. Dont think this discussion will do their customer care much good.0
