Beth Just to let you know I am thinking of you all :A
Someone has already said that treatment now is very good....well, my friend had a stroke 5 yrs ago, it struck her left arm and leg. I used to see her walking up and down her living room every day, as the doctor told her to get plenty of exercise. She gets about extremely well, she needs a stick now, but she is 87, also has osteoporosis, and is on statins for high cholesterol.

Have a look at the link Smoky has posted, it will perhaps help you to understand about cholesterol levels.

Please remember you have a lot of friends on here who will listen, advise, comfort and just be here for you,we all want to help xx

my prayers are with you and OH tonight.

Re the cholestrol, I was told by my practice nurse that there are all sorts of reasons for it, as I was upset to find I had high levels, like you and your DH I eat fresh food etc, it can be

I hope they both make a speedy recovery.

We seem to have had a run of OH's in hospital, but Silvercharmings OH & Sammys OH are both home and on the mend, thank goodness.

Haribo, Catowen has got a new LO, a baby so she is busy & Stefe is having problems with her home PC.
I'm not sure about Tattycath, wasn't her daughter undergoing tests

Beth - I'm glad you've been updated with DH's condition. As far as cholesterol is concerned, my DH's was high despite a good diet with no fried stuff and plenty of fresh fruit and veg. The doctor said it was the ONE capsule of cod liver oil that he was taking every day that was causing it to be high. Since he stopped taking it his cholesterol has gone down. So it could be something as simple as that.

I hope you can get some sleep now - he's in the best place and the best hands. We'll all be here for you but want you to take care of yourself, too.

    Much love

  • Beth Huge hugs to you. Don't beat yourself up about the chol. It runs high in my family too. Since I've been taking my thyroid meds mine is really good now & I eat very healthy.
Joannesmum I hope DH improves quickly & hugs to DD.
Smoky Lovely to hear from you & looking forward to the pics.
PP Don't mean to sound funny but seeing as you've had so much trouble with so many helpers maybe the problem isn't with them. Might be time to look at your behaviour. Maybe you are being over critical.

I wasn't able to get on here the other night. Said it was closed for maintainence. I'm sure you all missed me. :D Been busy with DGS this week and haven't really been able to draw breath yet. He's back again after lunch so I've got a couple of hours free. :T Sleep well. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)
