Getting PAC code from Virgin Mobile !
Comments

Its even a nightmare trying to join them and give them your PAC code. There is no option when dialing 789 to give them your PAC even though they say this is how to do it on the their website.
Ended up choosing technical support from the options and waiting ages for someone to answer.I dread to think how we will get a PAC from them if we leave.0 -

I phoned for a PAC code yesterday evening and the guy said he could not divulge it over the phone but he would text it. I'm still waiting, 1 day later.
I got a text this afternoon - Reason #1 to keep your Virgin Media Mobile....
At least they've got the message I'm leaving so I'm hoping it's on it's way. I suppose I'm a bit concerned just how many 'Reason #' messages I might have to put up with before they get round to sending it.
What puzzles me though, is that you don't need to be a rocket scientist to see that any PAC code delivery delay tactic is just going to make people more determined that ever to escape and never come back.

Hi, I too cannot get a response from them. I refuse to pay to call them, and after over an hour on their website (that kept giving an 'oops, we have a problem' screen to me when I tried to log in), I found an email address.
Nett results: zero response.
Today I managed to log in and use their online form.
Nett result: zero response.
I have found this on the Net which shows they have to do it and promptly. Maybe Ofcom next then?!:
(for some reason, I cannot post a link)The PAC processPhone your existing mobile provider and ask them for a PAC or Porting Authorisation Code
The PAC enables you to transfer your number to another network.
The PAC must be issued to you immediately over the phone or within two hours by text message.
Your PAC is likely to be a nine digit code and is valid for 30 days.
Contact your new chosen mobile provider and give them your PAC.

Feb 2014. I got my PAC code by dialing 789 on my Virgin mobile and choosing option zero - a guy in the Philippines gave it to me immediately and was very friendly. I told him I was going to give Giffgaff a go. He warned me that it may not be operational for 30 days0
