Right must get motivated today. Got to print out slips to go into books for my new road, introducting me, with delivery date etc. Its a bit chilly here and all I want to do is curl up with LO and veg lol.

I know the feeling Ive got about 20 books to go collect but my and LO are in slob out mode already not good lol x

I'm going around all of my customers houses tonight to drop of slips that tell them their delivery day, time and how much they need to pay. I find that by doing this the customers are always in and generally have the correct money waiting. I have never in 3 Camps been asked to come back another day :D

I do this too, but at the same time as I drop the note telling them delivery due, amount due and when I will be doing deliveries, I give them the next book too. That way some have the money and new order ready when I go to see them.

    Now that's a good idea.

As I recently moved I have kept some of my customers from my old area. Only 4-5 of them but I have to walk 1.5-2 miles to drop off the slips, drop the orders and books and then collect the books again. I could cut that right down. Thanks Aureol212 I think you've just saved me an extra hike! :j

Aparently the annual planners are 5 for £1. I cant remember where i read it though!

In HT 1 (p26) they're quoted as 10 for £1 but no size details. Anyone seen them yet? Are they worth buying?

When I deliver the slips I find that half of the customers aren't in, so I pop it through their post box.

Depends on what time you go i guess, i start about 6pm , deliver orders and books on a planned route :D , then drive back and see if they are in on the way back, if not leave a yellow slip for next day.

I would say we get rid of about 90% of orders on the Thursday and pick up the rest on Friday :j

I doing all of my local territory deliveries on thursday, and the further away one's on Friday. I also start about 6pm but people are never in .

Unfortunately I don't have the luxury of driving, but that is what the earnings will be paying for after xmas so it wont be long :T

  • I also post a slip a few days before the delivery is due saying when I will deliver and how much they owe. I also include my contact details so if convenient they can rearrange

All this talk of territories may just give me the push I need to go and re-canvass! Although it does depend on the weather of course... I think there is an avon lady in my area (besides me) cause the local hairdressers, pub etc all order from her (I already enquired)... so just leaves me the houses converted to flate then! :D

If you are going to recanvass then now is definately the time just before xmas, we recanvassed a small street last week and got 6 extra customers

Looks like you're right - despite being quoted as 10 for £1 in the last two HT's, when I put my order in it confirmed 5 for £1

Still no idea if they're worth having but my order is due next week so will find out soon enough! :D
