Right this is gonna sound sooooooo stupid..... but i know today is the day i need to drop my first campaign.... and im so nervous i feel sick! :o:o:o

Im pertrified of knocking on doors BUT im also scared at just putting them through doors and not knocking as im worried i wont get ANY back and i only have 30 to cover my territory and 154 houses once i took out flats i wont be able to access etc. Know i wont manage them all by order date anyway but still wanna cover as many as possible and use my books next time to maximise use!

I spent whole of yesterday making a newsletter, writing up my order forms and using the royal mail website to get all the correct house numbers of my streets I'm allocated (needed to do this as the numbering is wrong round here .. i.e. there is up to number 42 in my street... but only 28 actual houses..with first one in the street being no 7!!!

I was reallly confident till i woke up this morning now i just wanna ring my ASM hand it all back and say i cant do it because of my stupid anxiety problems! Ive suffered with panic attacks since i was a kid due to severe bullying and i dont go out much or have any friends because of it... and now its jeapordising me doing this. :(:(

Aw Johanne :grouphug:

I suffer from anxiety and depression, and I get panic attacks too, I know how horrible and terrifying they are. I actually decided on working for Avon because I knew it would cause me less pressure, but for you it is obviously a trigger.

Do you have an upline sales leader? I always offer to do the first drop with my girls if they're nervous. If not, is there anyone else who will come with you? A mate, an other half, even a neighbour?

You will be fine after the first few, hun, the worst that will happen is that people will say 'no thankyou', and remember that a no isn't personal, it's just that they won't buy Avon. I know it is easier said than done, but try and remember that nothing bad is going to happen.

:grouphug: don't give it up, hun. It really will help you in the long run. PM me if you want to chat xxxx
• HI Johanne, well doe you for taking the first step to being a fab Avon Rep! I too have suffered with anxiety and depression and am quite a shy person. I am just about to place my first campaign order and I just wanted to say it does get better. I have knocked on most of my allocated doors, as like you I didnt want to lose too many books. Most people are very friendly, even if they arent interested or get Avon elsewhere. Just wanted to send you virtual positive thoughts and hugs - please do let us konw how you get on - I know you will be absolutely fine

• HI Johanne

Don't worry after you have been out a couple of times you will wonder what all the fuss was about.
It would be better if someone could go with you, offer them a cuppa and a cake.
If it's chocolate i will come and help you..lol
good luck
• My, my - what a cranky lot we are ;) .....I can identify with all the above, having been agorophobic/suffering panic attacks since 1962. Much better these days, having weaned myself off diazepam around 20 years ago, and learned to drive in 1991. I still have my off days, but keep a sense of humour!

Go for it Johanne, you're certainly not alone, and if we can do it then you can - you'll be fine!

Group hugs everyone :grouphug:

Hi Johanne, we are a cranky lot! I too have suffered with depression and panic attacks. It's part of the reason I decided to do Avon - I could speak to people just at the doorstep so no pressure, and knew it would build up my confidence. Admittedly I just dropped rather than knocking for my first campaign, but was only able to do this cuz I had loads of books. However, after going round and speaking to some of the people when collecting, I really wish I'd knocked on all of them to start with! So to remedy that for this campaign I'm knocking on all the ones that didn't order/haven't already declined.

You will get a far better book return if you knock. I know it's daunting, but all you have to say is "Hi, I'm Johanne, I'm the new Avon lady for this area, would you be interested in the Avon book?" they'll say ay or nay, if they say no, you just say "no problem, thanks for your time, bye", if they say yes, give them the book and tell them when you'll be back to collect.

Before you go... pop some lippy on, or whatever your makeup routine is, I wear my best casual outfits and always put the slap and perfume on - it makes me feel more confident.

If you're feeling tight chested; close one nostril and breathe in through your nose, then close the other nostril and breathe out through your nose again. It helps regulate your heartbeat.

Also - lower your shoulders! Always helps.
:)
• I agree about the perfume and lippy etc..
if you feel nice you will get a better response.
I think because Avon has such a good name people are friendly towards you.
Even people who don't order anything will usually put books into bags in case it rains etc.

you will be fine..

Right my ASM just called me with all the info i need for sign up no:3
so just got to catch her now

If you don't drop books today, it's not the end of the world, that's the beauty of Avon. As someone on another forum said to me, which really whipped me up:
Think Bodacea or Xena. They don't wait around for people to tell them who will be friends with them. They just go and do. Use your inner-Xena to march right out there on stage. Not everybody will like the show, but they will respect you. Jealous critics be damned, full speed ahead.
