Avon Hints and Tips (Part 2)

You got orders! As has been said it'll build up to better. It may be worth spending a tenner on getting a couple of bargains yourself, then you're in the Commission Zone. Plus the commission will cover the money you've spent to bump up the order.
I bought 5 sets of the Lavender 5 for £5 (page 182, C16), the way I see it, knock off the 20% which is my commission and it's only cost me £4 for each set! Brilliant for Chrimbo pressies.
I also bought one of these as free gifts as I ran a 'spend £25 for a free gift' this campaign.

Right this is gonna sound sooooooo stupid..... but i know today is the day i need to drop my first campaign.... and im so nervous i feel sick!
Im pertrified of knocking on doors BUT im also scared at just putting them through doors and not knocking as im worried i wont get ANY back and i only have 30 to cover my territory and 154 houses once i took out flats i wont be able to access etc. Know i wont manage them all by order date anyway but still wanna cover as many as possible and use my books next time to maximise use!
I spent whole of yesterday making a newsletter, writing up my order forms and using the royal mail website to get all the correct house numbers of my streets I'm allocated (needed to do this as the numbering is wrong round here .. i.e. there is up to number 42 in my street... but only 28 actual houses..with first one in the street being no 7!!!
I was reallly confident till i woke up this morning now i just wanna ring my ASM hand it all back and say i cant do it because of my stupid anxiety problems! Ive suffered with panic attacks since i was a kid due to severe bullying and i dont go out much or have any friends because of it... and now its jeapordising me doing this.
Good luck Johanne! Did you manage to do you drop today or not? Don't worry if you didn't, remember Avon is flexible, fit it around your life.
I'm sorry it's making you feel nervous, unfortunately I don't understand as much as everyone else as I haven't had depression or anxiety, however, I personally found it easier to just post the brochures through the letter box, I didn't lose many due to people not leaving them out, I lost a few because of the rain. Of course it does depend on the area, but I know most people don't door knock in advance, they just drop brochures, so it is your call, we have mixed views about this. I would do whatever makes you feel most comfortable, and if you lose a few brochures, ask your sales leader very kindly for some more, mine gave me an extra 30 brochures when I asked!
Good luck and just go for it! Think of all the lovely things you can buy as you nervously approach people's front doors, that might snap it all into focus for you.

all was good until she asked for delivery dates.
I gave her dates then realized she has no internet so it is a paper form and different date.
Any ideas please?
Yeah my very first sign up happened to have no internet - I was stumped too! My asm gave me the 4 page order form, continuation sheet and the envelope needed for them to send their order in. However, if they are internet savvy but just no pc you might want to suggest she use the internet in the local library, they are free and available to everyone, she would only need to use it once every 3 weeks!

How are you anyways? Work still stressful etc? When does your order arrive?
Kat x
I'm groovy thanks Kat, feeling all healthy due to an hour walking round of collecting late orders today. I love getting this exercise and knowing I'm getting money for it! (I may have mentioned that a few times before)
Work - I've only got 8 more working days to go... knowing that certainly helps with stress levels!
My order arrives on Thursday and it can't come quick enough! It's like waiting for Christmas! I'll be at work till 3 but luckily my neighbour takes her sister's Avon delivery which is the same mailplan, so she'll take in my delivery too! Bonza!
'ere folks. I've just made an additional order (I'll get charged £2.50 but the commission will cover that. It said on the subtotal that I'd be getting 20% commission, because it was £80. So does that mean I'll end up with 25% commission on the main order, and only 20% on the additional order?
Going to an Ann Summers party on Friday so hopefully will get some tips for party games! (Obviously only the games not involving a dildo...:rotfl:)0 -
Hi all,
Not been around for a couple of weeks and have just caught up on the thread!!
My first campaign was 15 and I got about £300 of orders which I was really happy with, everything arrived but not when it was supposed to!! My delivery day was a Tuesday and I spent the whole day sat in waiting for it, when it got to around 4pm and it hadn't arrived I started to worry and started ringing round...turns out I was right to worry as the delivery driver hadn't been able to find me (I live on a new build estate) despite my ASM giving directions. Anyway to cut a long story short I ended up driving from Basingstoke to Andover the next day to collect my stuff as I didn't want to wait till the Friday for the delivery as I wouldn't be in.
C16 is going really well for me, I've got several large orders including one for £100 which I'm still astounded by!! Anyway think I might just hit the £500 mark, order needs to be placed tomorrow, then fingers crossed it will arrive on time next Tuesday!!
I had my ASM round today to explain sales leadership to me but not sure whether to go for it or not. Seems to me like it could be a lot more work for little extra reward - do people agree with this or should I just go for it?
Sorry for the long post!!

No unfortunetly, but OH went to his mums and took a brochure for her and one for sis-in-law and then when he finally got home he looked after the baby whilst i walked to the big 24 hr Asda even though it was raining to pick up the freezer bags. Going there allowed me to make a slight detour to my sisters aswell to leave a book with her. Then on way home i went the long way to scout out my exact territory for tomorrow so now i feel i at least achieved something Avony today!
Will drop for the territory tomorrow, unsure if I'll door knock or not. And i'll be going to my mums to pass a brochure to her.
Wondering whether to take my little one with me to do my street though? She will have to alot of the time anyway due to her dads work hours and i find im more confident with her with me anyway for some reason.... plus the buggy basket would come in very useful as dont know how i'll carry 26 C17 booklets otherwise as i have a bad back on top of everything else!!:rotfl:

Good luck for tomorrow Johanne you will be fine xx
Re the door knocking, personally I decided not to, I popped a book through a door of all my houses with a note asking to people to let me know if they didn't want any more books, a couple of people did leave me a note. I asked everyone to leave out on a specified day so when collecting I only had to knock on the doors of those who hadn't left out, at this point I asked if they wanted to continue getting the books, most said yes but some said no. I'm about to start my 3rd campaign and think I will continue this way this time but if when I collect the books they haven't ordered in any of the 3 books I will knock and ask if they want to keep recieving...
Hope that helps.

I used to do Ann Summers.
Unfortunately my selling point was having the wildest parties in Cov (seriously! there's an extra clause in the AS contract cos of me!) so the games haven't been much use so far in Avon.0
