I've been reading this thread with great interest!

I started doing Avon last summer, just by chance as I was stopped in town, didn't really expect to get anywhere, but realised I had nothing to lose. I just joined at a friends and family level, but am really enjoying it!

A year later and with Christmas coming up, I thought it might be good to take things up another level. I don't think I really want any streets to do, but really fancy getting the book into some other offices etc - my best orders are from my husbands and mother-in-laws offices.

I'd like to ring some local offices and ask for a contact name to send the book to (read the tip on here about posting them and sending a S.A.E. for return - thx!).

My question is, can I do this on the friends & family level, or do I need to do something else first?

(I have loads more questions - some just little things that come up and hardly seem worth asking, but will perhaps post them on here later!).

My Camp 16 order has just arrived - I'd better get unpacking!

    My

Yes you can give them out to local offices, shops, to neighbours etc all at friends and family level, you don't have to request any persmission for that just go ahead. The only thing you are not allowed to do, is to start putting brochures through letter boxes, you have to be given a territory for that, otherwise, any other method you are free to do.

Good luck with that, and maybe you could ask your area manager for just a small territory, like 20-30 houses or so? Just a thought, as that wouldn't take up much of your time and would likely get you a bit more money.

    Take care

well ok im now officially an avon lady.........

I enquired on friday night and my ASM has just turned up with 35 C17 books and signed me up!

I have territory of 3 roads and any little closes etc off them as there is no one around here.

I smell like bondgirl... and am very shellshocked... specially as i hadnt dried my hair was in baby food covered clothes and had no make up on- not the best advert for avon! :rotfl: Plus my living room was literally upside down as we decided today was day to declutter and move furniture! :o

My only issue is she said i dont have to declare my earnings because its "only like doing the catalougue" I dont feel comfy with that scenario though.

I'm with you on that one Jo - we're probably just wimps (I know OH thinks I'm mad for declaring it), but I'm a worrier where that sort of thing is concerned and find it less hassle on the whole to be all legal and above board :D You may not earn enough to pay tax anyway - depends on your other earnings.

Good luck. I'm sure you'll enjoy it; just keep reading this board so you'll be up to speed with all the shortcuts and ways to make a little extra :j

Thanks for the words of encouragement everyone, i'm definatley gonna keep at it. Asked if i could leave a brochure in my local cafe but manager said no he didnt want his staff distracted! Bet the answer would of been different if the manager had been a lady! Got another coffe shop, hair dressers and florist near by so will try there this week. I know i've definately got another 2 orders min coming in too.
