Avon Hints and Tips (Part 2)

Fed up received order last week and been charged for 2 items and they arent in the box. Happening to many times lately. Mistakes.

I have just been and delivered all my orders. Only one woman was in but ohmygoodness she was a darling I just wanted to share it with you because sometimes Avon can be hard work and unrewarding so it's good to also post when we have something wonderful happen to us

Anyways, she lives off a wee side road which i only just canvassed a couple of weeks ago for the 1st time. I'm glad i did as i got 2 orders out of 8 houses and this one woman who i delivered to today was a sweetheart. She said she had lived here 16 years and has never seen an Avon catalogue but had often wondered if anyone did it as she would love to see one. She asked if i was going to be regular and i assured her that i was.

I had put a bottle of 'In Bloom' in my pocket and i let her have a squirt of it while i sorted out her change. We had a little chat and i told her i'd be back on Sunday to collect her catalogue. All in all i'm feeling pretty chuffed with myself as i feel i've gained an amazing customer in her

Denise, sorry to hear about your delayed delivery that has really thrown a spanner in the works! I bet if it didn't matter to delay a day it would be bang on time :rolleyes: how long are you away for? could you maybe do a slip to go through the door of anyone you can't get to and say you will be back after your holiday and explain about the delayed delivery? hopefully they will all be in but at least if you can let any that you can't get to know what has happened you would come accross as consciencious (sp?)

Don't think I already mentioned it but when I asked at the nursery yesterday if they had an order and they didn't one of the mums said to me 'oh do you do avon' and then said she likes to buy certain things from them and would like to see a book from me as the girl she used to buy from has given up....so I will take her a c16 in next week...I felt really good after that

I like the idea of carrying a bottle of perfume when doing the rounds....I have bought some absynthe this time, I thought it smelt nice on the page, just hope it is nice so that I can try to do well with that one....I can't help thinking it might be harder to sell the more 'expensive' perfumes, I think a lot of people are like me and tend to go for the cheaper ones....when I was a teenager and my mum did avon I used to absolutely love one called oddysy (does anyone remember that one?)

only had 8 things missing from order this time.asked for immediate replacement and just seen that they're sending me 1 of something when i asked for 2 and they've completely missed off 1 item-so i've had to email them again.if i have new customers and summat is missing i swap things around.if a regular customer has ordered the same thing i give it to the new customer instead-regulars are used to things missing now.

i have finally managed to sort my order out! The very nice lady i spoke to deleted my previous order- i totally understand it now! And i have resubmitted my new order- that doesnt go over 500 pounds.

So.. i have a question- does your credit limit go up each time you place an order- im sure it must do as how do people with huge orders get on?

Hello i am on my second campaign and am having a similar problem to denise38-

my order was due to arrive on monday but has not, but then again my order was held because i had not paid of the last amount. But i did pay it off the day i got the phone call informing me about it being held, which was a day after i ordered it. So i presumed the order will be delievered a day later, but after waiting two extra days now it still hasnt arrived. I go on holiday to Norway tomorrow until Sunday so thats my weekend gone. I am already behind on my homework and will be even more behind with this holiday so i dont no how i am going to catch up and do Avon. I had it all planned that i was going to do it all yesterday when i have a half a day which is my 'avon time', but now i havent started packing for Norway, or done my homework because i have been getting in touch with customers explaining the situation. It just extra stress i dont need right now, but oh well. I am hoping that the order will be here by the time i come back so i can sort it all out rather straight away rather than having to track it down.

I tried doing this with my bodyshop stuff and they removed the advert because they said that we cannot use it to recruit people?!?!

If you manage to successfully advertise on there could you please pm me your template so that I can review and amend to suit me to recruit my bodyshop team?

I did ask for my ASL to contact me regarding becoming a SL for avon but she hasn't got back to me yet, even though she asked me if it was something that I had considered?!!?

Hows the absynth selling for everyone?

That's strange, unless you put your advert in the wrong place. I put an ad on gumtree as a Sales leader looking for reps, but you have to put it under the Businesses area. Working from home, extra income , etc. Not had any responses to it, but when you look there are so many other ads, and as mine was free, those who pay for their ads get priority advertising space.

I did think it was odd because I had seen some other ads that was advertising part time work but it was in the right section. Not sure what happened there.

Bit of advice if I may.

I have taken on 395 houses in total and only have about 6, campaign 15 brochures left?!?! How would you guys go about ordering books for these? What would be the best plan of action? I want to do them all in 2 drops and gradually reduce the number of books that I need over the next couple of campaigns. I don't really want to order a load of the same campaign brochures if I could spilt it over 2 campaigns then it would be better but I can't order any more campaign 15 brochures. I have lost so many this time around. Grr
