  • Hi Everyone,

Just want to start by saying this thread rocks the dogs socks. I'm only 23 pages in :O still a long way to go to catch up but the tips i've been getting is great.

I signed up to Avon last week and waiting on my books to be sent as I live waaaaaay out of the road from anyone. I have a tiny area, and i've just moved here so I know no one. I'm really shy and hate knocking on doors to people I don't know.

I was planning on doing a newsletter, you know just to introduce myself, but i'm totally stuck as to what to do, I was wondering if anyone is willing to show me theres as an example ( I promise I won't copy, just want to get an idea) . I'm desperate to get this off to a good start, and I've picked up fantastic tips, just wanna get this off on the right footing, and possibly have a monthly letter with different things i.e promotions, comps etc.

Help would be very much appreciated. thanking you ladies and gents :)

PM Ellibee. She made an offer many pages back to email over promo stuff she has done, and you will find it very helpful

Denise38? I would have offered them no more than 10% commission. Assuming you make the Higher order value, you will only be making 5% on any sales or 0% if you only reach MOV that campaign

I would go through the current and last brochure to see where the best offers are to give you the most stuff for your money. Footworks/SSS is always popular, and in C14 you can get 5 for £5. How much is the voucher for? Also in C14 there is buy 1 get 2 free on moisturisers I think so that's another idea. If you hadn't have already offered the voucher, you could have maybe bought 2 make up items for £10 and given them the £12 beauty bag as the raffle prize?

I think it is a shame you can't be there as you would fare better being there in person to demonstrate/drum up business, and generally make more noise than the Body Shop/Partylite people lol. Is there no way you go to the wedding for the day and the Ladies Night after? It just seems such a shame to waste such a good opportunity to get sales/new customers

Hi Happygirl thanks for the advice. I will def make the higher comm as I have been given an excellent round. I have the higher rate already just from friends and my own order. Lady before me did a fab job. It will be an additional order to my campaign 17 book and I did think myself I might be too generous so I will contact my pal and revise that although I am more interested in getting new people than comm . I have offered £20 voucher as it will be on the front page of the raffle book as the third prize. You know the ones that you tear off and leave counterfoil. Also event will be publicised with raffle prizes named with donors so again more advertising.
I am going to order lots of the 99p naturalsstrawberry, sunflower , apple , almond s/gel,linen sprays etc camp 15 and make them up into gift bags with ribbons and buy 5 for £5 SSO with scrunchies and mixture of products. Also going to back order some 99p nail varnishes
Not much competition from body shop as last year they had hardly any products to show and I think partylite are way too expensive.
Idea was to get in day before with my Xmas stock of tealights etc and get their order first. I will make my money from the gift bags etc that I will do the day before will also sell the tealights etc that are on my table rather than order so more money for me. Going to bulk buy a lot of Xmas stock in camp 17 which if I don't sell there will use at the school Xmas fare.
Unfortunately I am committed to the wedding all day although it an evening wedding as I am her witness.
Love this board like chilla nut I am working my through all the pages to get all your tips.

I know its an odd question - but when you joined, was it face-to-face? As you should have been given the books when you were signed up so that you could get going straight away!

I do a newsletter every brochure - something along the lines of:

Hi I'm Laura your Avon Representative.

I hope you enjoy browsing through the latest issue.

Then I have a list of the few of the best offers of the brochures - normally the one from the cover, and then a couple of the ones that can be easily missed

Then at the bottom I have my phone number, email address, and "Deliveries will be around the __th September" etc to give a rough idea when I'll be delivering - means I can print out all the letters, and saves having to write the delivery date onto the order forms, so I can re-use the order forms until someone has placed an order lol!
Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A

One thing to bear in mind, is that for additional orders, you have to hit the £78 and £148 marks again, regardless of how much you put through on your regular order, as they are counted as separate. I'm sure it will go great - but if you didn't get to the £148, then it could be a problem!

Good luck with it, it sounds great, definately a good way of getting different people to notice avon, whereas otherwise they might not have even looked at a book, but if people can see the products then it makes a huge difference!

OMG the sign-up has to be done face-to-face!!!!! Regardless of how far away your are, are you sure it is the area manager???? As area managers shouldn't be that far away even from the furthest part of their area I don't think. Could be a SL, we can get struck of for that - your ID has to be checked and you have to sign a form, which needs to be done in person!!!!

Thanks for that Lozza hadn't realised that even with an additional order I had to make the targets just assumed that because it was an additional that I paid for that it would be included with my regular order. Will def rethink what I give them and may well keep some of my camp 17 order back . Not the customers orders just what I would have orderd to do the next fare at the school. By the time I do that one the xmas stuff will be finished so was going to order early to just have thinks to sell on the night.
With it been an additional order I know that I get charged for it but how long will it take to arrive.
Thanks for all your help. Seem to spend more time here than anywhere else just now.

Lol thats typical that an asm would try and get away with doing that - it hopefully won't affect you - but you should have been signed up in person, as they have to check your id and complete the form in person - to check on who you are to help protect avon from fraud....and she should have given you books & forms at that appointment....and then do a second appointment to show you how to order online. That can be done over the phone as a sl, but area managers usually always do that in person, as they are meant to be a good example lol. Asm can only appointment within their area, but sl can appoint anywhere - I personally avoid my own area (don't get on with the manager lol) so try and do out of area appointments.

Don't worry - it won't affect you - especially as if she doesn't support you, all you need to do is threaten to tell avon that she didn't sign you up in person and then she'll probably get her !!!! into gear lol!

It's hard to say how long it will take to arrive - only done 2 additional orders so far - one turned up about 7 working days afterwards - the other one, I submitted later Monday night and arrived Wednesday morning! I'm guessing it might depend upon when there is someone in the area??? They usually say 5-10working days so if you say at the latest 2 weeks from when you submit your additional order that would cover the worst case scenario!
