Avon Hints and Tips (Part 2)

Hi
Another little tip from me.....
I went to www.avery.co.uk and requested a free sample of their labels. I received a sample pack with about 7 sheets of different colour and style labels. One sheet was silver and has about 70 labels on the sheet. I wrapped a few samples in pink tissue paper and stuck one of the silver labels over it. On the label I wrote "please enjoy these free AVON samples with my compliments. If you wish to place an order please contact....."
I think it is nicer if people have to unwrap something, and I believe they are more likely to take notice of them if they receive them as a little present. I put one pack in with every order, and I have been giving out a few to people I know to try and entice them to be customers. I have loads of samples so have been puting a body lotion, 2 fragrances, and a couple of lipstick samples in each.
The white labels in the pack I put on the back of some old brochures with the wording "these brochures are out of date. If you wish to see a current AVON brochure, please contact your local Independent Sales Consultant......" I have been leaving these in my Drs surgery and my OH has put some in a shared rest area at work. It would work anywhere really that you would find magazines for customers to browse through. It's also a way of using up old brochures which hopefully will turn into new sales. I only started doing it a few days ago so can't measure the success of it yet. The sample packs do get people excited though, and I'm confident of getting new orders out of doing them
The pink tissue paper I bought in Tesco for 99p, and each pack of tissue paper will cover about 40 packs of samples.0 -
Hi,
I have only recently started Avon and was wondering what all of you do with your old books? I have the current book and the last book out but I have all the books before that that are just lying are around the house. Do you give them back or recycle them? Any advice would be appreciated Thanks

As a SL I use them to recruit with - perhaps your SL might want them back off you (they pay even pay you a bit for them if you're lucky!) - but before I used to just recycle them!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

Hi everyone.
I have just started avon last saturday and am putting in my first order today of £190+ so im pretty pleased as only had a week to do it. I work only 8 hours a week as i have just graduated and with the current climate there are no jobs... do i still have to declare myself as self employed and be taxed as i only earn £180 a month?
Does anyone have any tips of things i should be buying or using to increase my sales or to gain and keep customers. Loving it so far buy is harder work then i expected. Is it worth me buying some samples today before i send of my order if so any favourites anyone can suggest!
Look forward to becoming a fully fledged avon rep...

Yes you need to delcare yourself as self-employed still - but obviously you will only pay tax on your profit (ie your earnings minus all things you can possibly think of to put as costs lol, obviously things like your books & bags etc but there are lots more)....
For samples - I wouldn't buy any at the moment, as with being a new rep you will receive free samples anyway for sales targets across your first 6campaigns.....so in your 2nd camp delivery you will receive some....then again in your 4th....then finally in your 6th! The targets have been reduced, so they are only £78 and £148 now - so you will easily meet them. No point buying samples when you will get them for free anyway!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -

My spare ones end up at the tip, but i'm always careful that they don't have anything on them to identify me, as I'm concerned they may be classed as 'industrial waste'. So many councils have got strange rules about rubbish these days that it makes sense to be cautious 'Better to ask a silly question than to make a silly mistake' Elliebee's Mum

what i do is keep the ones with really good offers in them or nice covers. when i have enough i stick a label / staple a slip to them with contact details saying that the book is out of date BUT if you want to order contact me OR put book out on ... day with your details on.
then i put them through every house in my roads for people who haven't ordered - it does work and is eaiser than knocking on doors if you are shy!it's nice to be important but more important to be nice!! :kisses3:0 -
What do you guys think about the new Christian Lacroix Perfume, I think it smells absolutely gorgeous! There is a smelly page in the HT17, but if you're not a sales leader you probably haven't got it yet, I hope this will be a big seller, better than the in bloom one, not too fussed with that one, altho I like the bottle.

I have a customer who wants to order a ring and is measuring 9 on the size guide. The brochure only has small, medium and large so which would you order?0
