  • ive ordered a few bumper boxes and most of it is discontinued products i.e bubble baths, liquid hand soaps, jewelery brushes, make up and occasionally like in the last box i had full sized anew products that are still in the campaign. I think its hit and miss with it tbh as ive had a box before and it was rubbish in there. I buy them every few campaigns for gifts as i find its worth it.;)

yeah i suppose its easier to use the things YOU dont like as freebies and 'prizes' or whatever..im sure the customer wont mind if its discontinued cause its freeee x

hiya im new to this forum but have been doing avon for a few campaigns now.

Firstly when canvassing i knocked on every door, introduced myself and asked if they were interested in avon. also i wrote 'would you like to continue receiving AVON brochures? yes/no' in the 'messages' box on the order forms, that way they could have a look if they were unsure and let me know for next time. if people were out i dropped a book through their door and they could let me know the same way when i went to collect it. saves money on books and time knocking on doors that arent interested. (also i made a note of all the 'lonely men' will come to that later**)

i have printed out slips saying things like 'thanks for your order of x amount, this will be delivered on..... please contact me for any special delivery times' i think you can download them from the avon website anyway. they seem to work. the first time i posted it in an evelope suggesting they put their avon money in the envelope ready...and the majority did

I also made an avon book sized flyer offering a selection of gift bags. the customer can choose how much they want to spend, pick a theme ie bath & body/relaxing...and i choose the contents, put it in a pretty bag and even add a blank card for them to write out themselves. in the card i put a slip listing the contents/what it does etc.
on the opposite side of the flyer is an order form with their name/add, the name/sex of the recepient, the occasion, favourite colour etc so i can use that info to make up a bag that suits that person.

i did the free gift for orders over £20 and that worked quite well, though to start with i had to order more than one clearance item as most of them were out of stock and i couldnt offer a free gift and then say i couldnt get one! so its hit and miss with that one

I have offered out feedback forms with each delivery so the customer can review a product they have purchased. i have added my own review on the correct page so they can see what I thought of that product too and where they can buy it if they like the sound of it etc. i am yet to know how well this works as i only started with this campaign. hopefully though it will let me know more about different products in case customers ask me things and i can also copy the reviews and hand them out too or just make up a 'review' book for me to refer to if needed.

i have a slip which i put in with each book (at the front so u can see it through the bag) saying please leave out on .......... for me to collect, thanks. that seems to do the trick.

for october BCAM i have already made flyers highlighting the avon crusade pages, explaining that a % goes to breast cancer awareness, pre warning of the upcoming customer competition and also that i will personally donate 5% of each order i receive throughout october to BCA. not a money making tip but a good charity idea. along with that ive included an envelope and said if they dont want to order but do want to donate they can either leave it in the envelope or go to (the avon BCAM website) to donate online etc in novemeber i will then add another flyer saying how much WE have raised and congrats etc

soon im going to make a flyer about...dun dun duuuun...christmas. with order + delivery dates from whenever till xmas and say about possible stock issues etc so customers can see how important it is to order early when it comes to AVON + christmas even if it is scary. also for those LONELY MEN** in big letters ill write something like 'BUY THE WOMEN IN YOUR LIFE XMAS PRESENTS FROM AVON, NO NEED TO LEAVE THE HOUSE, NO P&P AND I CAN WRAP THEM FOR YOU!' job done

thats about all the ideas ive used - that i can think of...one question:

HAVE WE DECIDED THE BUMPER BOXES ARE POINTLESS?? WHAT COMES IN THEM? i was thinking about ordering the £30 one and saw earlier someone said it was bad but im on camp 14 so dont know if that makes a difference or not.

Oh my god - that is a lot of GREAT ideas! Do you find they work well? I did a newsletter this time with loads of offers etc... I'm not sure anyone even looked at it!

thanks. im on my 3rd campaign and have only had one order for the gift bag (but it was £20) so not bad

the slips saying when ill be delivering have helped and highlighting a bit that says contact me on ..... for special delivery times has worked too.

i highlighted the email / phone number bit on the order form and am now on texting terms with a few ladies so i can text and remind them to leave out their brochures or to arrange for delivery AND i send out emails with offers or hints/delivery dates/stuff ive seen about avon in mags etc

i had quite a few orders over 20 pound so thats worked quite well

the feedback forms i got back today were...a flop :( noone filled it in but im going to percervere (sp) with them in each delivery cause you never know, plus ill still fill out one myself and distribute them so eventually ill have a little folder of them.

as for xmas and BCAM im waiting a while before sending them out so ill let you know how that goes. (i received my BCAM box for collecting money today whoop whoop)

One of my customers also had a problem with the footspray. Her's was full but wouldn't spray at all :(

Was this the white and blue 'odour neutralising spray'? I had one of these returned today for the same reason.

Chinatown - it is the white and blue one. Didn't get a chance to ring Avon today, will get round to it next week. Have realised I spent an evening sending brochures to my "2nd" round, who are on the 2nd lots of camps, if you know what I mean, and I don't need these back so no rush to collect but not done any current camps so am going to rush now to try and get round my whole territory!! Feel so unorganised!! Panicking now because I don't think I will have time to get round everyone now!! Hate feeling like this, I end up losing sleep, how sad am I?!
  • Hey On my second campaign now & pleased to report back that I have found some more customers, however not on my allocated territories ( I have only managed one customer from three roads after twice canvassing - most have told me they already get Avon or are not interested i ordering) I am hoping to hit the £78.00 target which would be a huge improvement from my first campaign. Well done to everyone for these great ideas that you have been posting up. I hope this campaign is a sucessful one & you raise ur targets!- Emma -xx

I've also had the birthday gift - 1st pressie ever from them though they always send a card. If you look in the clearance for C14, its available for £12.50, save £27.50? Dont remember seeing a cosmopolitan product in the catalogue???

Maybe they had a load of freebies!

    BTW, not worth £40 IMHO.
